Many people recognize Giving Tuesday as a global day of charitable giving that happens in the fall. It follows Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday as a chance to give back to organizations you love. Recognizing the precarious situation COVID-19 has put nonprofits in this year, #GivingTuesdayNow is happening early on Tuesday, May 5! We need you more than ever during these challenging times. Any amount helps!  Donate Today!
Buffelgrass Survey

We need your help (and it will only take 5 minutes of your time)! We are trying to better understand public awareness and concern about the invasive species, buffelgrass. Buffelgrass is widespread in the Sonoran Desert, and Tucson in particular, and poses a number of threats to the native environment. If you choose to take this quick survey, the information provided will be used only in combination with the other participants' information. Take Survey!
Adopt a Hummingbird for Mom

This Mother's Day, show your love in a unique and creative way by adopting a hummingbird in honor of a mom in your life. This symbolic adoption is a fun and meaningful way to show you care. You can tell her "you helped me spread my wings and fly!" Packages start as low as $35 and provide high quality care to these animals while engaging your loved ones in conservation efforts. Purchase before May 2 to ensure Mothers' Day delivery.  Adopt Now!

Flower Friday
We still have a few spots left for tonight's happy hour, Agaves y Mescales! This virtual class is all about crafting and enjoying fermented drinks sourced from our desert plants! Join the Desert Museum's, Jesús García, for a fun Friday evening with your own shot glass, while watching him spin a yarn of a story from agave fiber. Not only do we guarantee fun, you will also learn the importance of agaves in Sonora and Arizona. Only $10 per household!

Volunteer Viernes

National Volunteer Appreciation Week was last month! Although our volunteers are currently not at the Museum (the animals and plants miss them so much), we wanted to highlight a few of the incredible people we have the honor to work with. On the blog, they share with you why they volunteer their time and energy at the Desert Museum and what makes it so special. We really appreciate our volunteers. Things would not be the same without them.  Read Stories Here!
