Packrat Playhouse

The day is finally here! Our newest exhibit, Packrat Playhouse, is opening in 36 days! Join us for the grand opening on Saturday, April 14, from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. It'll be a packrat party! Be one of the first people to play in the new (air-conditioned!!!) family-friendly exhibit. Kids will get to climb through prickly pear cactus pads and slide down cholla skeleton ribs. Guests will enjoy magic and juggling, crafts, live music, fantastic photos opportunities, and more.
The Art Institute Is Growing

Over the past five years, the Art Institute has more than doubled in growth! We are so grateful for the ongoing support of our participants. Your dedication to our program has inspired this expansion. Help us celebrate the opening of the expanded classroom space, the latest home for member engagement through the arts! Opening Ceremony will be held on Saturday, March 10, starting at 10 a.m., followed with light refreshments and casual tours of our new facility. Interested In The Arts?

Flower Friday
Springtime symbolizes many things: desert blooms, warmer weather, and the ritual of harvesting cholla buds. Our popular Cholla Bud Harvest program allows you to stroll Museum grounds and gather quite the harvest. You will learn how to de-thorn the buds and prepare several delicious dishes. While munching on a native foods lunch, you will also discover the natural history of the cholla and its sister cactus, the prickly pear. $60/members, $66/non-members. Here for the Harvest!
