It's starting to happen on a larger scale and it's time to come together as a community and take action.  Last week, dozens of saguaros burned in a fire that scorched nearly 25 acres in the Santa Catalina Mountains. This is the first known fire in the Catalinas primarily fueled by the invasive species, buffelgrass.  So how can you help?  Fund our efforts by purchasing an I Save Saguaros sticker! We have already raised more than $700 to help eradicate buffelgrass. Can you help us reach $1,000?   Donate Today!

Flower Friday
This bizarre bloom belongs to the popular and purple Passionfruit vine (Passiflora edulis). Not only is this decorative plant a perfect addition to your balcony or fence, it serves as a pollinator pad for butterflies and bees! You can also enjoy mouthwatering fruit starting in the summertime. These vines love to climb and can reach at least 8 feet across and just as high. You can purchase this pretty plant (and many others) at our Plant Sale this month.  Dig Deeper!

Volunteer Viernes

We would like to congratulate our volunteers of the month for September: Jacqueline Mills and Sheila Brewer. Jacqueline is a Wednesday Docent and very talented interpreter and animal handler. She always makes sure that cards are sent to fellow docents who are sick or healing. Sheila is also a Wednesday docent who loves to guide bird walks and is always willing to step forward and fill interpretation shifts!  We could not do what we do without them. Thank you for being such a great addition to the family.
