Mark your calendar - January 17 & 18

Gear up for the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show! The Museum's 2015 Mineral Madness event will take place on Saturday and Sunday, January 17 and 18. The event includes a rock and mineral marketplace as well as activity stations throughout the ground where you can start your own mineral collection.  New this year: "rock out" at the live musical performances or test your athletic skills on a rock climbing wall!

Holiday Classes Warm Up The Season
There's no better time to learn about Tucson's cultural heritage than during the holiday season. Join the Desert Museum for two exciting events that evoke the true essence of the holidays. Plan Ahead For Your Visit

Thanksgiving week is one of the busiest of the year at the Museum! For the best visit possible, here are a few quick tips. If you plan on to attend Raptor Free Flight (10:00 am and 2:00 pm) or either of the live animal demonstrations at 12:15 pm in the Warden Oasis Theater, allow extra time to park and purchase your tickets- the Museum recommends at least 45 minutes. For those wanting to experience fine dining, the Ocotillo Caf´┐Ż will be open for lunch November 24-30 (closed Thanksgiving Day). Reservations are highly recommended: call (520) 883-5705. The busiest day of the week is expected to be Friday, Nov. 28. If your plans are flexible, you may want to opt to visit a different day.
