BIRDS IN ART EXHIBIT OPENS APRIL 11
Ironwood Gallery Reception

The contemporary artistic interpretations of renowned artists worldwide come to life in the Birds in Art exhibit. From common birds to exotic species, different media capture the quiet beauty, strength, and mystery of the avian world. The opening reception will be held from 2:00-4:00 pm on April 11 in the Ironwood Gallery.

PINE NEEDLE BASKET WEAVING
Learn an Ancient Art       
Experience the centuries-old tradition of basket weaving to create one of your own! This class takes you from prepping the pine needles to adding decorative touches to your basket. The four different stitches used to bind the pine needles coils to the base also help you to develop an original design. An illustrated manual will help you re-create the process at home!

DESERT DELECTABLES NIGHT
Sample Mouthwatering Original Cuisine
Get your taste buds set for the most innovative food sampling event in Tucson! Desert Delectables is the only event using indigenous ingredients. Enjoy original savory and sweet concoctions by Tucson Originals Restaurants as you're serenaded by great regional tunes at four musical venues. Online ticket sales start April 16. Admission is $35 for members and $40 for the general public. Day of the event tickets are $45.
NEW!  EARTH AMBASSADOR PROGRAM
Applications Due May 1

Desert Museum experts will inspire teens to build leadership skills and an understanding of science and conservation in the new Earth Ambassador Program. Hands-on ecological research and outdoor adventures include hiking, biking and backpacking. Ambassadors will also take part in a saguaro fruit harvest campout, research inside Biosphere 2, and participate in the conservation efforts of a working ranch. The one-year program is open to teens aged 13-17.
