CACTUS GARDEN 50th ANNIVERSARY

The Haag Cactus Garden is bursting with blooms as its 50th anniversary is being celebrated by the Desert Museum. Succulents and 138 species of cacti are grouped to represent the different geographic regions of the Sonoran Desert. The garden was dedicated on May 7, 1965 and named in honor of John Haag, founder of the Tucson Cactus & Succulent Society and former curator of plants at the Desert Museum.

Through distinct perspectives and artistic styles, this exhibit features different interpretations of the wonders of the wildlife and plants of the Sonoran Desert. The four featured artists live in the Tucson Mountains and depict their individual vision of the area in a variety of media and styles. Reception in the Baldwin Building, 1-3 p.m.
