An Evening of Delicious Treats Awaits on May 24
Taste the flavors of the desert at this first-time event - Desert Dessert Night! Sample original confections created by 15 Tucson Originals Restaurants while strolling to the music of Beth Daunis and Phil Lipman.Vote for your favorite dessert, see cooking demonstrations, and learn about native ingredients and fibers at the Sonoran Supermarket presentation.While supplies last, attendees will receive a souvenir coffee mug commemorating the event. COOLER THAN EVER IN 2014!
Summer Nights Begin May 31
Cool Summer Nights are back and better than ever! The season kicks off early this year with Living in Harmony with the Sun
on May 31, and wraps up on August 30 with Go Batty for the Museum's Birthday. All the most-popular theme nights are back including two Astronomy Nights and Insect Insanity. New themes this year include: World Oceans Night and two Full Moon Festivals.  The Museum stays open until 10 pm with special programming usually starting around 6 pm.
Reservations for the Ocotillo Caf� are recommended. Make sure to check the website often, as new details are posted frequently. Learn more
NEW ART CLASSES FOR SUMMER
Learn About Scratchboard, Watercolor, and More
Have you dabbled in art before and want to expand your skills? Check out the Art Institute's summer class schedule. If you've wanted to experiment with scratchboard, then consider the Scratchboard & Acrylic Workshop with Master Artist John Agnew. On July 17, 18, and 19 learn the basics of scratchboard using techniques from Agnew's new book  Painting the Secret World of Nature. The class concludes with the opening of Agnew's exhibit in the Ironwood Gallery. For watercolor enthusiasts, Susan Morris, a favorite AI instructor, returns for Tantalizing Textures with Watercolor. Explore the versatility of the medium in this class beginning May 27.
