Museum Explorers Camps Offer More than Ever!
Camp skulls

July 14-17 and 21-24

Children entering grades 1-6 are invited to participate in the Museum's Explorers Camps. Learn about desert plants, animals, and people through science experiments, making and using ancient technologies, touring behind the scenes at the Museum, and creating art and music. There will be a surprise discovery every day - like tide pool animals in the desert! Three different levels of camp are offered over two weeks. After-care is also available. Sorry grownups - these camps are just for kids. Sign up today

Help Guide the Future of Museum Programs
Are you between the ages of 20-40? Are you creative and want to be part of the next big idea? Apply to be a Desert Lab Rat! On May 4, the Desert Museum will host two innovation workshops to identify new activities and programs to engage young adults and families. There are two sessions: 10:00 am - 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm. If you are selected you'll be able to share your insights and ideas and, as a special bonus, will receive a gift certificate for a Behind-the-Scenes Museum tour of your choice. Participation is limited to 20 individuals per session. Register by May 1 for the morning session or the afternoon session
Raft the Scenic San Juan River
Life in the Southwest is directly tied to water resources and the landscape. Each summer, the Museum has taken hundreds of youth on a journey investigating the complex chain of events that cause water to flow from a Tucson faucet. This September, the same experience is being offered to adventurous adults! The Museum is hosting a presentation about water in the West and a preview of this trip on May 1 from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm at REI in the Tucson Mall. Learn more about the trip
Whole Foods Hosts Fundraising Event April 29
Looking for a delicious way to support the Museum? On Tuesday, April 29, Whole Foods on Speedway (this location only) will donate 5% of its total sales to the Desert Museum.
