Desert Museum visitors got a special treat on March 23 when a Bighorn ewe gave birth. The male lamb is already scampering around the steep terrain under the watchful eye of his mother. Our Facebook fans can watch a video of the ewe giving a gentle "foot-stamp" to encourage him to stand and take its first steps.
Mariposas de la Milpa (Butterflies of the Farm), a partnership between the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum and the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona, was awarded a $69,000 grant by the Commission for Environmental Cooperation under its North American Partnership for Environmental Community program.
