Plan on a Rockin' Good Time
With Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend fast approaching, consider spending some of it at Mineral Madness. Add to your collection at the mineral marketplace and see demonstrations on how to use rocks and gems to create your own jewelry. Or challenge yourself on the rock climbing tower. Bring the kids and "rock out" to music by the Nap Skippers and Dr. Nature or make new discoveries at the activity stations throughout the grounds.  Fun for the entirely family!
Learn How to Make Fake Rocks
The Museum's Coati Kids Club kicks off 2015 with a geology fun fair during Mineral Madness on January 17.  Club members will experience an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour at Life on the Rocks and learn how the exhibit design team creates fake rocks and fossils.  It's not too late to become a Coati Club member.
