Evening Offers Dessert Treats from Local Chefs
If you're into gourmet cooking or just a self-proclaimed "foodie", take note- the Museum is hosting the first ever

Desert Dessert Night! This event, a partnership with the Tucson Originals Restaurants, is a confectionary cook-off where local chefs will create original desserts using native Sonoran Desert ingredients. Prizes will be awarded for the best hot and cold desserts.Vote for your favorites! Tickets go on sale April 23 and are just $28/person for members and $38/person for non-members until May 17 when the price will increase $5. More details are online

Support the Museum by Shopping at Buffalo Exchange

Help keep the world blooming with the Museum and Buffalo Exchange! All proceeds from this year's Buffalo Exchange national Earth Day Dollar Sale will benefit the Museum. The 21st Desert Gala, celebrating the Warden Aquarium and the Gulf of California, is THE premiere fundraising event for the Desert Museum. Tickets are still available for this not-to-be-missed enchanted evening. Enjoy delectable cuisine and cocktails while bidding on incredible treasures. This year's live and silent auction items feature fantastic finds from art to torch cactus to a trip to Bordeaux! DEEP BLUE OPENS IN GALLERY
Explore the Gulf of California through Photographs

The Gulf of California is one of Mexico's natural treasures and a source of inspiration and wonder for all who visit its waters. This amazing region has given rise to Deep Blue, a solo exhibition by Silvia Gomez Jimenez, showing in the Ironwood Gallery from April 12 to June 14. This exhibition presents underwater photographs which create a vivid journey into the depths of the sea. This collection offers an opportunity to create a different experience for the general public, bringing about a new consciousness that emerges from the sea to renew optimism and hope in all. DESERT DISCOVERIES

Don't forget to tune into AZ Illustrated on Mondays beginning April 7 for Desert Discovery: a series of video stories exploring the plants and animals of the Sonoran Desert featuring Desert Museum staff members. The series airs as part of AZ Illustrated Nature at 6:30pm on PBS 6.
