On August 9, the Full Moon Festival returns with a focus on poetry and the arts. Join in the debut of the first Desert Museum poetry installation by Poet in Residence, Eric Magrane. Enjoy a performance of Corrido, a popular narrative song and poetry form. Attend the free photo workshop: Cool Tools or enjoy hands-on poetry and art activities for the entire family.

Spots Still Available for Summer Classes

Looking to expand your art horizons? Consider signing up for one of the Art Institute's Summer Session classes. You can learn to give your 2-D art a 3-D illusion with Rick Wheeler, take your animal sketches to the next level with Rachel Ivanyi, or gain control of your watercolor painting using frisket (an essential watercolor tool) with Susan Morris. If you already have completed pieces, Janie Gildow can teach you how to mat and frame them without breaking the bank. Learn more
