The Digest - GW Clinical Enterprise

GW MFA | GW Hospital | GW SMHS

The GW Medical Faculty Associates

The Delta variant is highly contagious and necessitates close attention to safety and prevention protocols in order to continue to provide high-quality care at GW. Please review the updated COVID-19 Exposure protocol (linked below) including for vaccinated healthcare personnel.

We thank all GW Health employees and trainees for adhering to PPE requirements, reporting exposures to Occupational Health, and helping us maintain a safe operating environment for us and our patients.

Submit Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination

  • For all of our health and safety, the MFA requires our employees to have had their first shot by Sept. 1, with full compliance by Oct. 1. As in the case with other required vaccinations, we too will consider exemptions. Employees who were vaccinated here at GW have their vaccination already recorded. Details of how to submit record of an outside vaccination and how to request an exemption for medical or religious reasons have been sent to employees who do not already have record of a vaccination. Please get vaccinated now, if you are not already, and submit a copy of your vaccine record.

D.C. Mayor’s Office Reinstates Indoor Mask Mandate

Effective Saturday, July 31, until further notice, GW is reinstating its indoor mask requirement in university-owned or -operated facilities for all individuals regardless of vaccination status. This guidance is consistent with the District’s decision to again require that people wear masks in indoor public settings beginning July 31. D.C. takes this action based not only on guidance from the CDC but also as a precaution as COVID rates have increased locally.
