JED Campus Initiative

On behalf of the Holistic Well-being

CSU Pueblo is proud to be a JED Campus and to work with The Jed Foundation (JED) to create and sustain comprehensive systems, programs, and policy development related to student mental health, substance use, and suicide prevention efforts. The partnership was made possible through a grant from the Coalition of Colorado Campus Alcohol and Drug Educators (CADE).

While the Holistic Well-being pillar of Student Affairs leads the university taskforce, we need the help and support of our students, staff, and faculty. There are multiple ways to participate - from being on a sub-committee, helping committees as needed, or by promoting events and activities. For more information about our JED Campus initiative, current topics and committees members, or to sign-up to help or receive monthly updates, please visit our JED Campus website.

CSU Pueblo Non-student Hourly Payroll Transitioning to Biweekly Payments Starting January 2025

On behalf of the Division of IT

As part of the WorkSTATE project to implement Workday across the CSU System, Colorado State University Pueblo (CSU Pueblo) is excited to announce a significant change to our payroll schedule that aims to enhance operational efficiency and employee satisfaction. Beginning in January 2025, payroll will transition from a monthly to a biweekly payment cycle for non-student hourly employees. This change is designed to streamline payroll processes and provide employees with more frequent access to their earnings.

A biweekly payroll system offers several benefits for employees. First, it increases cash flow, as employees will receive their paychecks more frequently, which can aid in budgeting and managing monthly expenses. Additionally, having a consistent income schedule with regular paychecks every two weeks can enhance financial planning and stability. Lastly, receiving pay more often can help reduce financial stress by alleviating some of the burdens associated with waiting for monthly paychecks. This shift is a significant enhancement aimed at improving the employee experience at CSU Pueblo and will offer greater flexibility and financial ease for all staff members.

CSU Pueblo is committed to making this transition as smooth as possible. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we implement this important change, and we look forward to supporting you throughout the transition.

Employees are encouraged to stay informed through email updates. For more information, please contact payroll@csupueblo.edu.

CSU System Launches WorkSTATE: A Major Step Toward Modernizing Human Capital Management

On behalf of the Division of IT

Significant progress has been made in the Colorado State University System’s (CSUS) journey to implement a human capital management system (HCM). The multi-campus initiative has been named “WorkSTATE,” following a naming contest that received over 50 submissions from the HR community.

The name reflects CSUS’s inclusive culture. The project is built on four pillars: Strategic Innovation, Quality Recruitment & Retention, Operational Efficiency, and Unified Operations.

In June, the WorkSTATE team announced that Workday, a leading provider of cloud-based solutions, will serve as the new HCM system. CSUS has partnered with Accenture, a professional services firm, to assist with implementation.

Implementation began in mid-July with launch events at the Fort Collins and Pueblo campuses, attended by over 200 community members. These events outlined key principles for success: collaboration, best practices, and standardized processes.

A major milestone was the thorough business process mapping, ensuring that documentation aligned with project goals. Workstream and technical leads received training to support the initiative.

The next phase, Architect and Configure (A&C), started in late September and will continue through April 2025. This phase includes functional workstreams such as Absence Management, Compensation, Payroll, and more, each led by co-leads from CSUS and Accenture.

Technical teams are established to handle data, integrations, reporting, testing, and security, structured similarly to functional teams.

Implementing Workday marks a significant step in CSUS’s efforts to enhance operational efficiency and streamline HR processes. It will integrate HR functions, offering a unified platform for managing recruitment, payroll, performance evaluations, and employee development.

For questions about WorkSTATE, contact hcm@colostate.edu or visit WorkSTATE.colostate.edu for updates and feedback forms.
