The 200th Diocesan Convention

Episcopalians from 59 parishes will meet to honor the bicentennial anniversary, conduct church business, elect deputies to General Convention and discuss various resolutions.

On  Saturday, October 26th at 3:00pm as part of the 200th Convention of the Diocese, the Rt. Rev. Thomas James Brown, will be formally welcomed at the Cathedral of Saint Luke in Portland and seated in the cathedra, or bishop's chair, that is symbolic of the bishop's office. Bishop Brown will deliver his convention address during the liturgy. 

All are welcome to attend the service, be involved in other ways, and if you can't join us at the Cathedral, watch the livestream! Here's how to do all of those things:

Attend: Come to the Cathedral of St. Luke, 143 State Street, Portland. Service will begin at 3:00 pm. Allow time for parking in Portland which can be challenging. The circle in front of the Cathedral and the Cathedral lot will not be available. Please consider carpooling. 
  • There is a parking garage at 45 Spring St. (next to the Civic Center with entrances on Spring St and Free St) is $3/hr. It is .04 miles (an 8-minute walk) from the Cathedral.
  • The Holiday Inn by the Bay parking garage at 60 Spring Street is slightly closer and cheaper but may have limited parking due to their hotel guests.
  • The Gateway Garage at 181 High Street (next to the Westin) is a few blocks from the Cathedral but may be full. No cash is accepted. $26/day.
