Happy Holidays, Slim,Enjoy our special gift to you - a brand new edition of The Dip!

Each year on Sysco observed holidays, we will automatically change a customer’s delivery day if impacted by our site’s holiday hours. Sysco’s observed holidays this season are outlined below:

• Christmas Day:  Sysco is closed for deliveries and will call operations on Christmas Day; however, all Sysco OpSites will hold normal customer order cut-off times on 12/24 for deliveries on Thursday, December 26.
• New Year’s Day:  Sysco is closed for deliveries and will call operations on New Year’s Day; however, all Sysco OpSites will hold normal customer order cut-off times on 12/31 for deliveries on Thursday, January 2.*

*The following Sysco Operating Sites WILL make deliveries on New Year’s Day: Jacksonville, South Florida, Central Florida, Southeast Florida, West Coast Florida, Intermountain, Idaho, Seattle

Sysco will send an automated email notification to each impacted customer location approximately three weeks prior to a holiday date, followed by a reminder email one week prior (attached example). This is an automated process, and no additional action is required by the customer. 

As the Holiday approaches, it’s important to plan product pull/thaw and prep thoughtfully to maintain quality and reduce waste. With restaurants closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, please keep the following short-shelf-life products in mind:

Pull Thaw:

• Saturday 12/21 only pull enough product for a half day Tuesday 12/24
• Sunday 12/22 pull enough product that you will need on Thursday. Wait to brine these until end of day Tuesday. First thing Thursday morning they will need to be debrined and used that day. 
• Tuesday 12/24 pull enough product for normal hours Friday 12/27

Short Shelf-life items:

• On Monday 12/23 prep only enough to get through Tuesday afternoon. Wait until Thursday 12/26 to prep these items after we are back open. 

We know this is not 100% SOP, but do due our operating hours with the holiday this is what we suggest as best practice for the time being until we are back from the holiday.

Holiday Gift Card Contest: Week 3 Results

TX-SC continues to hold the top spot in the restaurant competition, but Big Star’s Schertz restaurant broke up their hold on the #2 position. Schertz has now joined Houston (Westheimer) in the $10K Club by selling $13,872 in gift cards since the start of Thanksgiving Week. Houston (Main), Sioux Falls #1, and Old Cheney (Lincoln, NE) round out the Top 5. The Top Franchise Group, determined by average sales per restaurant, has changed and Big Star now holds the first spot, followed by SC Coop, TNT, and TX-SC. The system has sold over $180K in gift cards since the start of Thanksgiving week. The next week will be the last big push for gift cards before Christmas. For a complete list of restaurant and franchise group results for Week Three check out the attached spreadsheet.  

Only two weeks to go. Remember the Top 10 Restaurants will receive Visa gift cards for GMs as well as Amazon gift cards for team member drawings. The Top Two Franchise Groups will take home the Gold and Silver Gift Card Necklace, which will be awarded at the Franchise Conference in February!

Both the Top 10 Restaurants and Top two Franchise Groups will take home their own Visa or Amazon gift cards. Here is the prize breakdown:

2024 Holiday Gift Card Contest - Top 10 Restaurant Prizes:

1^st Place: $750 GM VISA Gift Card and four Amazon $50 drawings for the Restaurant Team

2^nd – 4^th Place: $500 GM VISA Gift Card and two Amazon $50 drawings for the Restaurant Team

5^th – 7^th Place: $250 GM VISA Gift Card and two Amazon $50 drawings for the Restaurant Team

8^th – 10^th Place: $100 GM VISA Gift Card and two Amazon $25 drawings for the Restaurant Team
