We are excited to introduce a simple yet impactful enhancement to our guest service – Service with a Name. This approach goes beyond the standard number system, providing an optional, more personalized touch that fosters a sense of familiarity and connection with our guests. 


When a guest approaches the counter, we will still assign them a number for identification purposes. Simultaneously, we will kindly as the guest’s name, which we will add to the same field that we entered the number in. We will then use the name at least twice during the order taking process. For instance, “thank you, Jeff. Is your order for dine-in or carry out?” and when repeating the order, “Jeff, you had….” This practice not only streamlines our order process but also creates a family or friend-like environment, encouraging long-term repeat visits. 


Implementing Service with a Name is equally effective in delivering orders to the table and drive-thru transactions. By incorporating the guest’s name into our service, we can provide a warm and personalized touch, enhancing the overall Southern Hospitality experience. For example, when a dine-in order is ready, we can approach the table with the ordering chit, which will have the identifying order number AND the guest’s name. From there, we can confirm the order with a personal touch: “Jeff, you had a Chicks Meal with Slims sauce?”.


It’s important to note that Service with a Name is a COMPLETELY OPTIONAL add-on to the already existing order taking process. The benefits are numerous, including learning regular’s names, improving order accuracy, and creating a more personal connection with our guests. This approach can also be seamlessly integrated into our drive-thru service, offering the same level of personalized service and order accuracy.

Coke Machine Daily, Weekly, Monthly Cleaning 


Keeping your Coke machine clean is important. In addition to taking the nozzles off each night, the ice chute should also be cleaned and sanitized to prevent build up. The attached documents walk you through how to preform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance. There is also a link to videos below. 


If your ice chute has mold or other build up in it and needs to be removed, you can contact a Coke technician at the 800 number, and they can walk you through removing it.

Reminder, The 3rd Annual Holiday Gift Card Contest will kick off on Monday, November 27th. The Marketing Hub has received orders for over 8,000 gift cards since the Holiday LSM Guide was sent out two weeks ago. If you have not already placed orders for gift cards and sleeves, for the Holiday Season, please get your orders in by Monday. Restaurants averaged over $1,850 in gift card sales between Thanksgiving and Christmas last year.  
To help restaurants focus on gift card sales during the Holiday Season, our competition will recognize the Top 10 restaurants with the highest total gift card sales from 11/27 to 12/31. Top franchise groups will also compete for the coveted Gold and Silver Gift Card Necklace. The necklaces will be awarded with much fanfare at the Franchise Conference! Will Midwest Slims and DHR take home the bling again this year? Will Searcy, AR and Sioux Falls II continue their restaurant sales domination with over $7,000 and $6,500 in Gift Card Sales, respectively?

Monday marked the first day of our holiday promotional cycle soft roll / training week! This media supported promo cycle will officially start next Monday, November 27th through Sunday, January 28th


If you haven’t already done so, please review the PIG book with your teams ahead of next week’s official launch (click here). A hard copy is included in your POP kit.

 

All stores should have their POP kits in hand to start training and soft rolling this week. If you are having trouble finding your kit, please let us know as soon as possible.

Cranberry Lemonade: Do You Have Enough Bubblers?

 

Every restaurant needs three bubblers for this holiday promotion:



  • Drink Shack: One bubbler for regular lemonade and a second for cranberry lemonade.
  • Drive Thru: One bubbler for cranberry lemonade. Place regular lemonade in a pitcher.

Harvest Jar Dessert Disengagement Instructions

The Harvest Jar Dessert LTO is scheduled to end and be removed from OLO next Monday. We will remove the Harvest Jars Desserts from the POS on Dec. 11.  

If you have product and wish to keep the items as an option please let us know prior to these dates and we will keep them in OLO and/or on the POS as needed until you have depleted product
