Greetings!

Every year, I find myself thinking the same thing around the summer solstice: who decided the longest day of the year should arrive just as the days start getting shorter?

It feels like a tease.

After months of looking forward to summer, I want these long days to linger. I want more evenings in the garden, more swims in the lake, more walks on the trail as the sun hangs low in the sky. I want to hear the first birds begin singing before dawn, watch the stars emerge late at night, and soak up every bit of warmth and light this season has to offer.

I know there will come a time, somewhere around late August, when I'll be ready for cooler mornings and shorter days. But not yet.

For now, I hope you're finding time to enjoy the places, people, and moments that make summer feel endless, even if it never quite lasts as long as we'd like.

Here’s to long days and lake swims,

DRY AS DIRT

It's Hard to Explain Forever

Some places change the way you see the future. After spending time on a recently conserved property with a landowner and supporters, Katie came away with a simple realization: it's hard to explain what conservation really means until you've stood on the land yourself. Read why protecting a place forever is about much more than a legal agreement.

CONSERVATION

Helping More Families Conserve the Places They Love

By welcoming Arthur Potts as KLT's new Conservation Projects Manager, we're growing our ability to build those partnerships, support local landowners, and conserve farms, forests, waterways, and open spaces.
