The Discovery of Genesis in Chinese
|
At the July 7th GHCA meeting we will welcome Mr. Scott Lane who is president of the San Antonio creation association SABBSA. Scott will bring his presentation The Discovery of Genesis in Chinese. Scott is a veteran of teaching Mathematics at the Secondary level: he has a Masters in Education from Texas A&M and he has won teaching awards in 1988, 1990, and 2001. Scott will bring his presentation The Discovery of Genesis in Chinese.
|
The first written Chinese was developed around 2500 BC . It used a list of pictographs that represented some basic things or concepts and these were combined into more complex words and sentences. Pastors, missionaries, and some scholars recognized that this system of pictographs contains many elements that seem to harken back to the Genesis creation and flood accounts! But of course this language was developed more than a thousand years before Moses wrote down these Genesis accounts so how can this be?
|
The modern secular scholarship simply presumes that the Biblical narratives were borrowed from ancient writings like the Gilgamesh legend. There are some elements in common but the epics like Gilgamesh contain a lot more embellishment which indicates that they were derived from the Bible, not the other way around.
|
There is a significant amount of evidence in the most ancient Chinese that they got to China by traveling west from what seems to be the tower of Babel event. That suggests that there are clues to how the Babel dispersion took place. There are many cultural groups that also have some elements of Genesis creation and flood in their origin stories and language. One of the most significant is the Delaware Indians who also employ many elements from the Genesis Creation, Fall and Flood narratives although these seem to be otherwise independent from the ancient Chinese.
|
It is interesting to note that the original Chinese of 2500 BC was monotheistic; the Chinese became highly polytheistic much later. So, the picture is not so clear in modern forms of Chinese.
|
Note that there will be no regular GHCA meeting in August because on 8/13 we will present the all day course Creation Basic Training. GHCA will put all of our August resources into that course because it will take us from just knowing a lot about creation and the bible to being able to respond to critics, skeptics, and even derision in a calm, confident, and effective way so we can influence the opposition rather than being intimidated or stymied. Being capable influencers is far better than just knowing and doing nothing with our knowledge. Please consider registering for the course at creationtraining.org calendar page and bringing $25 in cash or making a $25 donation to GHCA via our online Donation button below. Later we will send all who register full details on location, parking, and finding the classroom.

I hope to see you at both:
the July 7 GHCA meeting for Discovery of Genesis in Chinese
and on Saturday August 13 for the Creation basic Training course.
Many Blessings,
Frank Mayo
President, GHCA

Examples of Important YEC Scientific Evidences
Some major examples of physical evidence we point to include:
- Remains of original soft tissue still found in dinosaur bones. Along with that tissue is C-14 that would decay completely away in less than a hundred thousand years, a tiny fraction of the dinosaur fossil's supposed age.
- For many years geologists have found C-14 in fossil carbon throughout the fossil record. So, the entire fossil record is less than 100,000 years old.
- The origin of the information and molecular machinery in the first living self-reproducing cell remains a complete enigma for biologist and biochemists.
- In the origin of the universe, big bang theory is being recognized as a dead end by increasing numbers of secular scientists. The hypothesized inflation has nothing to start it, drive it forward, or stop it. Without inflation fatal flaws appear with the absence of predicted antimatter, magnetic monopoles, or any means for the whole universe to come to the same precise background temperature. Then the formation of the first stars is as enigmatic as the origin of the first biological cell. Dark matter and dark energy are as enigmatic as the galactic motions they are needed to explain.
At the root of all standard science are many assumptions that may be quite incorrect. At the top is that there is no God. Another is that present process can be used to explain everything in the past. When we look at a canyon we are taught to assume the river at the bottom cut the canyon. But perhaps tectonic events made the canyon and there is a river at the bottom because water always flows downhill. At the root of big bang theory is a pure assumption that has been named the "Cosmological Principle". Perhaps inaccuracies there are responsible for the big bang's multitude of problems.
There is more about the role of assumptions in science found on our website here. There are many more resources on young earth and young universe evidences here.
