Legislative Action Conference: March 9-11, 2025

The Legislative Action Conference will be held at the J.W. Marriott Hotel in Washington, D.C. from March 9-11, 2025. We will present the position paper provided by SNA National to our Congressmen, Congresswomen and Senators when we “Charge The Hill” on Tuesday, March 11th. We speak with our Congressional Representatives about our concerns and successes so that we can continue to have the support and funding that our operations need. It is so important for as many Child Nutrition Professionals from Ohio as possible to lobby. Industry and school district personnel are equally important! Our Representatives need to hear from us directly, so please plan to participate in this very important process.

You will be able to reserve a room at the J.W. Marriott after you register.

Leadership Spotlight

SNA of Ohio Professional Development Director:

Lori Mattingly

This month, we’re thrilled to feature Lori Mattingly, a dedicated professional whose career has spanned 28 years in the school nutrition industry. Lori serves as the K12 Key Account Manager for Rich Products and is the current Chair of the Industry Advisory Board (IAB) for SNA of Ohio.

Favorite School Food: Pizza Crunchers!

Lori’s journey with the IAB is an exciting new chapter. As a first-time Chair, she embraces the opportunity to learn and collaborate. “Teamwork makes the dream work!” she says, embodying the spirit of partnership that drives success. Lori is passionate about supporting SNA and IAB as they grow together, and she’s always open to new ideas and support from her peers.

When asked about her favorite aspect of SNA of Ohio, Lori’s answer was clear: “100% the people.” She loves seeing Ohio’s foodservice family come together to welcome everyone with open arms. The relationships and camaraderie built through these events hold a special place in her heart.

A standout memory for Lori was an axe-throwing event that perfectly captured the spirit of the Ohio group. “It was so great to see some get super competitive and others step outside their comfort zones. Myself included!” she recalls with a laugh. These moments of connection and fun are what make the Ohio SNA group truly unique.

For Lori, the friendships and shared knowledge within SNA are invaluable. She encourages anyone who hasn’t attended an event to give it a try. “Come open to making memories. You won’t regret it! The friendships and learning from each other are like no other place. We all need someone who understands our struggles, sings our praises, and shares tips and ideas.”

We’re proud to have leaders like Lori, who bring passion, dedication, and a sense of fun to everything they do. Thank you, Lori, for helping make the school nutrition industry a better place!
