Chief's Corner

Welcome to the May/June edition of  The Dispatch , the Rancho Cordova Police Department's (RCPD) e-newsletter.

At the end of May, another school year came to a close in the City of Rancho Cordova. Our School Resource Officers said goodbye to their students until the next school year. We hope this video of a morning tradition between one of our officers and students makes you smile. On behalf of RCPD, congratulations to the Class of 2019! We wish you all the best as you enter a new chapter of life, and look forward to seeing what you achieve.

Next week, we will celebrate our nation's birthday during the Fourth of July. We hope you will join us at Rancho Cordova's two-day Fourth of July Celebration at Hagan Park!  As you plan your Fourth of July festivities, this issue includes helpful tips to help keep you and your family safe.

Thank you, and I hope you enjoy reading this edition!

Every Kid Needs a PAL

In May, RCPD rewarded around 135 kids from 13 schools in Rancho Cordova with a field trip to Sky High Sports Sacramento as part of its Adopt-a-School program! Students enjoyed jumping on trampolines, playing and free food. Plus, free bikes and other prizes were given away to the students! The Adopt-a-School program fosters positive relationships between students and law enforcement and rewards students for living the values of their schools, like kindness, hard work and integrity. Special thank you to local business partners Sky High Sports, Republic Services, Golden State Water, Rancho Cordova Walmart, and Sacramento Sheriff's Toy Project for helping make this special field trip possible!
