Chief's Corner

Welcome to the September/October edition of The Dispatch , RCPD's e-newsletter.

One year ago, Rancho Cordova experienced the loss of a colleague and member of our community, RCPD Officer/Sacramento County Sheriff's Deputy Mark Stasyuk . Officer Stasyuk was a self-motivated, energetic officer who enjoyed meeting our city's students and residents. In this edition, we highlight a permanent memorial that has been erected to remember him, and we invite you to take the time to visit it. Thank you for the ongoing care and concern you have showed for our RCPD team. We are proud to serve you.

Fall is here, and we are heading into the holiday season. RCPD and Rancho Cordova PAL are once again hosting our annual Christmas in Cordova event to support 300 families in our community. If your family needs a helping hand, we encourage you to apply for the program. If you want to make a difference, you can get involved by volunteering, hosting a toy drive, or making a donation. Learn more in this edition.

Thank you, and I hope you enjoy reading this edition!

You Can Help RCPD Build Trust with Our Youth

Recently, our School Resource Officers have been hearing something that undermines our partnership with students. When our officers are nearby, we've heard a parent tell their child that we are going to take them to jail if they are bad. Our officers have even been asked to "arrest" their child for such behavior. Instead, learn what messages you can share with your child here .
