Greetings!

Fall Break is around the corner—a short pause to recharge and reconnect. In this month's newsletter, you’ll find a brief overview of October priorities, a rundown of APS highlights, and links to get involved across our schools. Appreciate your partnership as we keep students at the center.

Let's get to the updates:

  • October Board Meeting: Monday, October 6 at 2:30 pm. We will be hearing key strategic plan updates including school climate and financial sustainability. The full agenda is here.
  • Long Range Facility Master Plan Scenarios Revised: The facilities plan sets a vision for the future portfolio needed to accommodate trends in enrollment and academic opportunities. Learn more about the revised set of scenarios here.
  • Board Elections: Early voting starts Oct 14 and election day is November 4. District 3 residents will have the option to vote for districtwide Seat 8. More info here.
  • Extended Learning Plans: Optional learning activities and resources are provided for the Extended Learning Day (10/13) and Fall Break. APS has provided full plans to support our students and teachers. Contact your school for more details.

Graduation Rates Hit Record High

A total of 3,095 students graduated on-time from APS in 2025, surpassing last year’s number of 2,873 graduates. The percentage of students who graduated in 2025 is higher than any other year since the state adopted this cohort graduation measure. While HS grad rate is an important measure, we will stay focused on the ultimate goal of ensuring our students are prepared for college, career, and life. More detail here.
