Hello Ken,

As always, there is a lot going on at APS between the ever-changing weather, complex budget conversations, and delivering high-quality instruction in-between week-long breaks.

Here is a roundup of the news you need to know:

  • March Board Meeting: Monday, March 3 at 2:30 pm. The work session includes a review of the key District investments in the upcoming year along with a regular financial report. The complete agenda is here.
  • GO TEAMS Declaration Period Extended: Embrace the democratic process to influence your school's strategic plans, prioritize initiatives, and approve the budget. Declare your candidacy by March 7. More here.
  • Midtown and N. Atlanta Recognized for AP achievement: The State Superintendent named both MHS and NAHS as AP Achievement schools in Humanities and STEM for their outstanding performance and participation. More info about this success is here.
  • Appointed to the Invest Atlanta Board: I appreciate the opportunity to serve Invest Atlanta, the economic development authority for our city. I will work to ensure APS students' and families' interests are represented as important development continues. More about Invest Atlanta is here.

King MS is on the Move!

Martin Luther King, Jr. Middle School recently celebrated a milestone with the grand opening of its state-of-the-art broadcasting center. Even more impressive, congratulations Principal Gibbs for being named the FPSE (Georgia Federation of Public Service Employees) Principal of the Year!
