Cambridge Time Machine: Race Street Is Looking Pretty Spiffy These Days
This vintage postcard captures Race Street as the busy commercial heart of Cambridge. Storefront awnings line both sides of the street, automobiles share the road with pedestrians, and the architecture remains surprisingly familiar. It offers a glimpse of downtown Cambridge in an era when Race Street was not simply a route through town, but one of the places where much of the community’s daily life took place.

SOLE STRENGTH TRANSFORMS DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SURVIVOR STORIES INTO ART
EASTON, MD — September 10, 2026 — The Mid-Shore Council on Family Violence (MSCFV) will present SOLE Strength, a first-of-its-kind public art exhibition created for Domestic Violence Awareness Month. More than 20 artists have transformed anonymous survivor stories and pairs of shoes connected to pivotal moments in their journeys into original works of art.
The exhibition offers the public an opportunity to see, hear and reflect on the realities of domestic violence through the eyes of artists responding to survivors' experiences.
“For every story that becomes public, there are countless others that never will. Their stories are rarely in the newspaper, but these quiet stories matter just as much as the ones that make headlines. That is why we created SOLE Strength.”

We're kicking off Hobby Nights at the farm — a laid-back evening for anyone who's got a project they love (or want to start loving). Bring your knitting, your woodworking, your scrapbook, your crochet, your half-finished puzzle, whatever's calling to you. We'll have music playing, a little wine poured, and good company to enjoy while everyone works on their own thing, side by side.

What to bring: Your project + supplies, and yourself.
What we'll have: Music, wine, snacks, and a relaxed spot to spread out.
Come for an hour, come for the whole evening — just come
