Library news & updates
This feels like deja vu, but the Library has to close this Thursday (January 17) for the completion of our building envelope retrofit project. We will also be closed on Monday (January 21) for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. I apologize for the inconvenience. Everyone who is signed up has already been informed, but yoga on the January 17 is cancelled.

We WILL be open Saturday, though, and the homeschooling summit is still on for Saturday morning at 10am. In case you haven't heard, we are turning the teen loft into a dedicated education space. We're not 100% sure where we are going with it, but it will be some kind of mix of curriculum collection, library of things, and STEM learning space. The purpose of this meeting Saturday morning is to ascertain what people want most so we can allocate resources accordingly. If you have any interest, please come to see the space, imagine what you want there, and chat with us as to how to make it a reality. This isn't just for homeschoolers. Any families/groups interested in education outside the classroom are welcome.
Trustee Vacancy

One of our long-serving trustees will be retiring in February, and the Board will be looking for someone of step into the role. The trustees meet on the fourth Tuesday of every month at 7pm and usually wrap up meetings within an hour and a half. The trustees steer the development of library policy, approve library expenditures, and manage the library administration. You can read more about library trustees and their roles on the MBLC website here .

So if you're interested in being my boss, feel free to reach out to me or Danielle Morrow (the current acting chair - danmor@14@aol.com). I don't know if you'd be interested in something like that? Do you reckon you'd be interested?
