1. DEADLINE EXTENDED TO AUGUST 23: Submit to Speak at Soularize 2016: MEN Talks-Show Up and Act!
|
We are excited to announce that we have received a number of great submissions for Soularize 2016, but we are extending the submission deadline to next week. We are especially looking for additional presentations in the following categories:
- Serving the poor or disadvantaged
- Working to heal racial pain/divisions
- Work with minorities and disenfranchised populations such as the LGBTQ community and immigrants
This is the final deadline and all submissions must be emailed to administrator@illuman.org by midnight on August 23rd. Whatever your topic (clearly connected to your journey-not a sales/promotion pitch), share it with us by submitting an application to speak. 2. Update for "Soularize 2016: MEN Talks-Show Up and Act!" and "Drawing from a Deep Well: A Men's Retreat with Fr. Richard Rohr" from November 3-6, 2016

We are approaching the final three months before these November events, and we want to thank the over 200 men who have registered to attend Soularize 2016 and Drawing from a Deep Well: A Men's Retreat with Fr. Richard Rohr. In addition, we would also like to highlight upcoming deadlines.
- Event registration will close at midnight on October 21. We will not be able to accommodate any on-site registration at either event so please make sure to register by the deadline.
- The hotel room block is currently over 90% filled and we expect all rooms to be booked within the next thirty days. Currently, the room block is full for Wednesday and Thursday, but there are rooms remaining for Friday and Saturday nights.

Finally, if you are attending these events and are not currently involved with an Illuman chapter or region, we hope you will make contact with the chapter or region nearest you to learn more about activities happening in your area. A list of Illuman contacts can be accessed here.

We are often asked whether Illuman offers Men's Rites of Passage for younger men. While we do not offer Young Men's Rites of Passage (YMROP), many of our Chapters and Regions do hold YMROPs. This month, we asked two of our Chapter Conveners to offer reflections and insights based on their experiences.
