The Dual Reference Prophecy of Daniel 9:24-27: Part III - By Randy Nettles - https://www.raptureready.com/2023/01/18/the-dual-reference-prophecy-of-daniel-924-27-part-iii-by-randy-nettles/

THE DESOLATIONS AND RESTORATION OF JUDAH

The southern kingdom of Judah was invaded by the Babylonians three times. They are known as the desolations of Judah. The first invasion (and captivity) was in 605 BC (2 Kings 24:1-2). The second (and captivity) was in 597 BC (2 Kings 24:10-16). The third and final invasion was in 588 BC (2 Kings 25:1-21) and lasted until 586 BC when most of the children of Israel were carried away into captivity by the Babylonians. The desolations of the Jews and their later regathering and restoration by the LORD lasted for approximately 70 years. Their restoration was connected to the land and their holy temple.

In 539 BC, Cyrus the Great, king of Persia, conquered Babylon. In 538 BC, he issued a decree that the Jewish people could return to Judah and build a new temple in Jerusalem. This fulfilled the prophecies of Isaiah, who named Cyrus as the one who would carry out God’s purpose for Israel,

“It is said of Cyrus, He is my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure: even saying to Jerusalem, You shalt be built; and to the temple, Your foundation shall be laid” (Isaiah 44:28), and of Jeremiah, who prophesied a return to the Promised Land after 70 years (Jeremiah 25:11-12, 2 Chronicles 36:22).

The second temple’s construction began in 536/535 BC. From 605 BC (first desolation) to 535 BC is 70 years. The work on the temple stopped in 530 BC and didn’t resume until 520 BC. From 597 BC (second desolation) to 527 BC (third year of non-work on temple) is 70 years. The temple was finished in 516 BC, and its dedication occurred in the same year. From 586 BC (third desolation) to 516 BC is 70 years.

Ezra 6:17 says the descendants of the captivity celebrated the dedication of the second temple by offering 700 animals (one hundred bulls, two hundred rams, and four hundred lambs) for sacrifices, and as a sin offering for all Israel twelve male goats, according to the number of the tribes of Israel. This was the first time in 70 years that sacrifices were made in a temple in Jerusalem. The Feast of Passover was celebrated on Nisan 14, 516 BC, 40 days after the second temple was dedicated, and they kept the Feast of Unleavened Bread for seven days with joy. The second temple stood for 585 years until it was destroyed by the Romans in AD 70, nearly 200 years longer than the first temple.

Regarding the books that David had in his possession, it is clear from Daniel 9:2 that he had Jeremiah’s books in his possession. By his knowledge of the law of Moses (Daniel 9:11-13), I believe he also had a copy of the Torah. As I mentioned before, I think these books were taken from the temple in Jerusalem during the second Babylonian invasion in 597 BC when the temple of the LORD was looted and 10,000 Jews were taken captive, including all the princes and the best of the soldiers. Ezekiel was taken in this invasion as well. Daniel and his three friends had been taken captive previously in the first invasion of 605 BC.

DANIEL’S 69TH WEEK – JESUS’ TRIUMPHAL ENTRY INTO JERUSALEM

After Jesus (Messiah, the Prince of Daniel 9:25) was rejected as the king of the Jews during his triumphal entry into Jerusalem (Matthew 21), he did three prophetic things regarding the nation of Israel: He cleansed the temple. He withered the fig tree (representing Israel). He then told the chief priests and the Pharisees a couple of parables regarding disobedience and wickedness.

Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the scriptures [quoting Psalm 118:22-23]? The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone. This was the Lord’s doing, And it is marvelous in our eyes. Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a nation bearing the fruits of it. And whoever falls on this stone will be broken; but on whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder” (Matthew 21:42-44). This nation is the “Christian nation,” consisting of both Gentiles and Jews.

Luke’s version of the triumphal entry is slightly different. The crowd shouted out, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest! And some of the Pharisees called to Him from the crowd, Teacher, rebuke Your disciples. But He answered and said to them, I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out” (Luke 19:37-40).

“Now as He drew near, He saw the city and wept over it, saying, If you had known, even you, especially in this your day, the things that make for your peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes. For days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment around you, surround you and close you in on every side, and level you, and your children within you, to the ground; and they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because you did not know the time of your visitation” (Luke 19:41-44).

Evidently, by this statement, the Jews (chief priests and the Pharisees) should have known when their Messiah was scheduled to appear by calculating the 69 sevens of Daniel 9:25. Jesus then confirmed what Daniel had prophesied in vs. 26 regarding the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple. For their apostasy regarding the Messiahship of Jesus and their part in his death, the physical kingdom of God (on earth) would be delayed and the curses of Leviticus 26:31-33 would come upon the people of Israel.

After Jesus was resurrected, he appeared to his disciples and came and spoke to them, saying: “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:18-19).

THE NEW COVENANT IS GIVEN TO THE GENTILES

Even after the Jews had witnessed the miracles of Jesus and witnessed his resurrection, most of them still did not accept him as their Messiah king. The new covenant that was originally given to Israel was now available to Gentiles as well. All who accepted Jesus for who he said He was (the Son of God) and for what he did (shed his blood and died as the sacrificial Lamb of God) would have their sins forgiven and have eternal life and fellowship with God. All believers would be given the Holy Spirit as a “down payment” for their eternal reward.

“In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory” (Ephesians 1:13-14).

The indwelling of the Holy Spirit upon the faithful Church (both Gentiles and Jews) began the spiritual Kingdom of God on the earth. However, the physical Kingdom of God/Jesus will not be realized until Jesus returns the second time as LORD of LORDS and KING of KINGS.

The apostles slowly began to understand that Gentiles were now also beneficiaries of the new covenant. During the Jerusalem Council, Peter rose up and said to them: “Men and brethren, you know that a good while ago God chose among us, that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel and believe. So God, who knows the heart, acknowledged them by giving them the Holy Spirit, just as He did to us, and made no distinction between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith” (Acts 15:7-11).

James then said, “Simon has declared how God at the first visited the Gentiles to take out of them a people for His name. And with this the words of the prophets agree, just as it is written [per Amos 9:11-12]: After this, I will return and will rebuild the tabernacle of David, which has fallen down; I will rebuild its ruins, And I will set it up; So that the rest of mankind may seek the Lord, Even all the Gentiles who are called by My name, Says the Lord who does all these things. Known to God from eternity are all His works” (Acts 15:14-18).

In Romans 11, Paul writes about how Israel’s rejection is not final. “I say then, have they stumbled that they should fall? Certainly not! But through their fall, to provoke them to jealousy, salvation has come to the Gentiles. Now if their fall is riches for the world, and their failure riches for the Gentiles, how much more their fullness!” (Romans 11:11-12). “For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: The Deliverer will come out of Zion, And He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob; For this is My covenant with them, When I take away their sins” (Romans 11:25-27).

This prophecy was not fulfilled during Jesus’ first advent. It could have been if the Jews had accepted him as their Messiah King, but of course, they didn’t.

Daniel’s 70 sevens prophecy is a dual reference prophecy. Just as Zechariah’s prophecy regarding the coming King in chapter 9 is a dual reference prophecy, so is Daniel’s prophecy. Verse 9 in Zechariah 9 prophecies of Jesus’ first advent and is the event mentioned in Daniel 9:25.

“Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King is coming to you; He is just and having salvation, Lowly and riding on a donkey, A colt, the foal of a donkey.”

Zechariah 9:10-17 are prophetic events that will only occur when Jesus establishes His physical millennial kingdom. “His dominion shall be from sea to sea, And from the River to the ends of the earth” (Zechariah 9:10).

Jesus fulfills the first 69 sevens during his first advent by initiating the new covenant. Then there is a gap of time between the first and second advents (1,990 years so far). In this gap of time, the Holy Spirit- indwelt Church is representing the Kingdom of God on earth spiritually until Jesus returns.

Did you know the phrase “kingdom of God” is mentioned 70 times, only in the New Testament? Coincidence? It’s possible, I suppose. The phrase “kingdom of heaven” is mentioned 33 times, only in the book of Matthew. Of course, they are referring to the same thing, Jesus’ kingdom on earth. After the Holy Spirit-filled Church is removed by the Rapture, the last seven years of Daniel’s 70 sevens prophecy will finally be fulfilled. After “Jacob’s trouble” (the Tribulation) ends, Jesus will return (second advent) and establish His millennial kingdom of God, completely fulfilling the six objectives for Israel and Jerusalem mentioned in Daniel 9:24.

Only when Jesus is ruling and reigning as king of Israel will all Israel (remnant Messianic Jews) be saved and their sins removed. All twelve tribes of the children of Israel will be represented. Their transgression against God’s word and Jesus’ Messiahship will be eradicated, and righteousness will be the result. Iniquity and sin will no longer be prevalent but will be “sealed up.” Israel’s national sin will be firmly restrained, or brought to completion. There will be no need for vision and prophecy, as all prophecy will have been fulfilled, and Jesus, who knows the end from the beginning, will be ever-present. Ezekiel’s temple will be built and anointed by the High Priest Himself, Jesus Christ.

A KINGDOM OF PRIESTS AND A HOLY NATION

God’s original plan for the children of Israel was given to Moses on Mount Sinai when He made his “conditional” covenant (Mosaic) with them. “Moses went up to God, and the Lord called to him from the mountain, saying, Thus you shall say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel: You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to Myself. Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine. And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation” (Exodus 19:3-6).

Of course, we know how this turned out when they finally entered the Promised Land. The LORD knew the inhabitants of Canaan were too entrenched in their idol-worshipping ways to ever accept Yahweh as God, so Israel was to destroy them and take their land. But after this, Israel was supposed to be an influence for Yahweh and teach His commandments to the surrounding nations. Instead, they disobeyed the LORD and married the heathen women in direct disobedience to the Lord’s commandments. The idol-worshipping women influenced Jewish men to worship their false gods. The twelve tribes of Israel disobeyed God and did not destroy all of the inhabitants of Canaan, and were corrupted by their evil ways, just as Moses predicted.

After Moses, Joshua led the children of Israel into the Promised Land. After Joshua died, they were led by judges for approximately 326 years. Then they had three kings: Saul, David, and Solomon that reigned over all 12 tribes of Israel for a total of 120 years. After King Solomon died, the 12 tribes broke up into two kingdoms. The northern kingdom, Israel, lasted from 930 BC to 722 BC until the Assyrians conquered them. Israel had 20 kings in their 208-year history, and they were all evil. The southern kingdom, Judah, lasted from 930 to 586 BC. They had 19 kings and 1 queen in their 344-year history, and only about half a dozen of them would be considered “good.” For the 820 years that the children of Israel were in the Promised Land (until the final captivity by the Babylonians in 586 BC), they didn’t exactly live up to being “a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.”

Sheshbazzar led 40,000 Jewish exiles back to their homeland in 537 BC. From this point in time, until the Messiah Jesus came, the Jews were under the control of the Persians, Greeks, and Romans. The Jews stayed in the land until AD 135, when Simon ben Kosiba (Bar Kokhba) led an unsuccessful revolt against Rome. He was killed, and his troops were completely decimated. The entire population of Judah was deported and replaced with Gentiles.

From 537 BC to AD 135 is 671 years. During this time, Israel once again did not live up to God’s plan for them to be “a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.” This could have occurred if the Jews had accepted Jesus as their Messiah king during His first advent, but God, knowing the end from the beginning, had a bigger plan. Not only Israel but all nations and peoples will be represented (by accepting the new covenant) in the Kingdom of God when Jesus Christ returns to establish His theocratic kingdom. The Jews will then, finally, be a kingdom of priests and a holy nation to the entire world.

“For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. None of them shall teach his neighbor, and none his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more” (Jeremiah 31: 33-34 and Hebrews 8:10-12). “In that He says, A new covenant, He has made the first obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away” (Hebrews 8:13).

So, regarding the basic question we asked in part 1: Did Jesus’ first advent fulfill the six objectives (for the Jewish people and Jerusalem) of Daniel 9:24?

I believe Jesus’ first advent began the new covenant, which allowed for salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ and allowed for the remission of sins on a permanent basis. All believers would be indwelt by the Holy Spirit. This is when the spiritual Kingdom of God began, but it did not fulfill all of the objectives of Daniel 9:24.

Yes, the first advent provided reconciliation for sin and iniquity, but it did not “make an end of sins,” as the religious non-Messianic Jews are still observing the Mosaic covenant. They atone for their iniquity by observing the rituals of Yom Kippur every year instead of inviting Jesus Christ into their lives as the Redeemer. The non-Messianic Jews have not finished their transgression of unbelief against Jesus, as it is prevalent. Certainly, everlasting righteousness hasn’t occurred, nor has all vision and prophecy been fulfilled. A third temple in Jerusalem has not been built, nor has a high priest anointed it. All of these objectives for the Jews will only be fulfilled after Jesus’ second advent.

THE RESTORATION OF THE MOSAIC COVENANT TO THE START OF THE NEW COVENANT

Although Rodger Young’s reckoning of Artaxerxes’ decree in 458 BC to Jesus’ resurrection in AD 33 is for 490 years, I don’t believe these are the 70 sevens of Daniel’s prophecy. However, I do believe they are consequential, as they cover the time from a restoration of the Law of the Mosaic covenant to the beginning of the new covenant. We know from the Bible that 490 is a number that represents spiritual completeness. It is a multiple of 7 (spiritual perfection and finality) and 10 (ordinal completeness). The word ‘seven’ (and its compounds sevens, seventh, sevenfold) is used, by my reckoning, 490 times in the Bible. 490 years would be the equivalent of 10 Jubilee cycles (49 x 10), or (7 x 7 x 10), or (70 x 7).

See https://www.raptureready.com/2018/11/09/seven-gods-perfect-numbers-part-3-randy-nettles/  for more information.

The starting point of these 490 years began with Ezra’s return to Jerusalem in 458 BC to “teach statutes and ordinances in Israel” with regard to the Law of Moses (Mosaic covenant) and to install magistrates and judges. They were also to purchase the necessary animals and grain for sacrifices and offerings. In other words, the decree by Artaxerxes was to restore the Mosaic covenant in the newly built second temple. The end date, resurrection day in AD 33, was when the “new covenant” was confirmed after the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ shedding His holy blood on the cross. The end of Jesus’ first advent on the earth was the start of the new covenant. From that point on, the Holy Spirit would indwell the temple (body) of all believers in Jesus Christ.

Mr. Young and I do agree on AD 33 being the year for Christ’s crucifixion. As I mentioned before, the 445/444 BC decree by Artaxerxes is more in line with my reckoning for the terminus a quo “to restore and build Jerusalem” for Daniel’s 70 sevens. I believe the term “Messiah the Prince” is referring to Jesus’ entering the city, as prophesied by Zechariah, and not when he was baptized. Jesus was cut-off four days later, fulfilling Daniel 9:26a. The destruction of the city and sanctuary in vs. 26b is a short-term fulfillment that occurs 37 years later in AD 70.

Mr. Young believes vs. 27 is referring to Jesus’ fulfilling the 70th seven with His crucifixion and resurrection in AD 33, thus bringing an end to sacrifice and offering. My belief is that vs. 27 is in reference to the 70th seven that still has not occurred but will be fulfilled by the “prince to come” (of the people that destroyed the temple in AD 70), otherwise known as the Antichrist. He will bring an end to sacrifices and offerings during the middle portion of the last seven years before Jesus returns at the second advent and destroys him and his minions. He will then establish the Kingdom of God and will bring in everlasting righteousness.

ISRAEL AND THE KINGDOM OF GOD ON EARTH

“Surely I will take the children of Israel from among the nations, wherever they have gone, and will gather them from every side and bring them into their own land; and I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king over them all; they shall no longer be two nations, nor shall they ever be divided into two kingdoms again. They shall not defile themselves anymore with their idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions; but I will deliver them from all their dwelling places in which they have sinned, and will cleanse them. Then they shall be My people, and I will be their God.”

“David My servant shall be king over them, and they shall all have one shepherd; they shall also walk in My judgments and observe My statutes, and do them. Then they shall dwell in the land that I have given to Jacob My servant, where your fathers dwelt; and they shall dwell there, they, their children, and their children’s children, forever; and My servant David shall be their prince forever. Moreover, I will make a covenant of peace with them, and it shall be an everlasting covenant with them; I will establish them and multiply them, and I will set My sanctuary in their midst forevermore. My tabernacle also shall be with them; indeed I will be their God, and they shall be My people. The nations also will know that I, the Lord, sanctify Israel when My sanctuary is in their midst forevermore” (Ezekiel 37:21-28).

Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. One more time!

A Fabricated Narrative Against Israel: The Palestinian People Were Invented Solely For Political Gain – By Olivier Melnick - https://harbingersdaily.com/a-fabricated-narrative-against-israel-the-palestinian-people-were-invented-solely-for-political-gain/

The accusation of colonization and occupation–a fabricated narrative from the 1960s–is now well-seared into people’s brains. Very few, if any, in the mainstream media are questioning the validity of such a claim. Nothing shows how wildly accepted the “Palestinian Narrative “is more than the recent artifact “returned” to the Palestinian authority. A 2,700-year-old spoon from the Assyrian empire was confiscated from its owner as a part of a criminal case. It was then given to the Palestinian Authority and described as a “historic repatriation.”

Let’s not miss the point here. A significant shift just occurred. For the last sixty years, the Palestinian narrative has been part of anti-Jewish propaganda to turn Israel into “Palestine” so that the rightful original and indigenous original occupants could return. The narrative has become truth, and now is the time to begin validating it with artifacts and antiquities. Enter “the spoon,” heralded as “an example of Palestinian cultural patrimony.” This will undoubtedly be followed by more artifacts to enrich the history of a people that never existed–at least until their introduction to the world by Yasir Arafat and the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) in the 1960s.

Jewish history has been rewritten to rob the Jewish people of their heritage, culture, customs, and, last but not least, their land: Eretz Yisrael! I wish the Palestinian Authority would be honest about their goals like PLO executive member Zahir Muhsein was in an interview for a Dutch newspaper in 1977, “The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct ‘Palestinian people’ to oppose Zionism for tactical reasons, Jordan, which is a sovereign state with defined borders, cannot raise claims to Haifa and Jaffa. While as a Palestinian, I can undoubtedly demand Haifa, Jaffa, Beer-Sheva and Jerusalem. However, the moment we reclaim our right to all of Palestine, we will not wait even a minute to unite Palestine and Jordan.” He was very transparent and admitted that the Palestinian people were invented solely for political gain.

Let’s look at a few points made by the Bible as it pertains to Israel and the land.

• The Land ultimately belongs to God: God has granted the title deed to the Jewish people forever, but ultimately, it is His land:

Leviticus 25:23 KJV – “The land shall not be sold for ever: for the land is mine, for ye are strangers and sojourners with me.”

• The Land was given to Abraham and his descendants by God: God has given the Land of Canaan to the Jewish people ONLY through Abraham and his descendants:

Genesis 12:7 KJV – “And the Lord appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the Lord, who appeared unto him.”

Genesis 13:15 KJV – “For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.”

• The Land grant was based on an unconditional covenant with Abraham: God made a covenant with Abraham, but only God passed through the split animals making it eternal, and God said, “I will,” making the covenant unconditional:

Genesis 15:12, 17-21 KJV – “And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him… And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces. In the same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates: The Kenites, and the Kenizzites, and the Kadmonites, And the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Rephaims, And the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Girgashites, and the Jebusites.”

• The Land grant was based on specific boundaries that should never be expanded: While the current size of Israel (about the size of New Jersey) is not what the millennial size (twice Texas) will be, even the specific boundaries of the more significant Israel are not expandable by one foot. There isn’t one country in the world that would have to abide by biblical boundaries and not try to expand its territory through war or other human means. Israel is unique in that regard:

Deuteronomy 2:4-5 KJV – “And command thou the people, saying, Ye are to pass through the coast of your brethren the children of Esau, which dwell in Seir; and they shall be afraid of you: take ye good heed unto yourselves therefore: Meddle not with them; for I will not give you of their land, no, not so much as a foot breadth; because I have given mount Seir unto Esau for a possession.”

Deuteronomy 2:18-19 KJV – “Thou art to pass over through Ar, the coast of Moab, this day: And when thou comest nigh over against the children of Ammon, distress them not, nor meddle with them: for I will not give thee of the land of the children of Ammon any possession; because I have given it unto the children of Lot for a possession.”

• The Land was to Abraham, then Isaac (never Ishmael) and then Jacob (never Esau): While the land was first promised to Abraham, the promise was repeated through his son Isaac and his grandson Jacob:

Genesis 25:5-6 KJV – “And Abraham gave all that he had unto Isaac. But unto the sons of the concubines, which Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts, and sent them away from Isaac his son, while he yet lived, eastward, unto the east country.”

Genesis 26:3 KJV – “Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father;”

Genesis 28:3-4 KJV – “And God Almighty bless thee, and make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, that thou mayest be a multitude of people; And give thee the blessing of Abraham, to thee, and to thy seed with thee; that thou mayest inherit the land wherein thou art a stranger, which God gave unto Abraham.”

• The Land grant is only based on God’s character, never on Israel’s performance: Israel was sent into captivity more than once, but God, while He disciplined the Jewish people, never rescinded on His promise:

Leviticus 26:44-45 KJV – “And yet for all that, when they be in the land of their enemies, I will not cast them away, neither will I abhor them, to destroy them utterly, and to break my covenant with them: for I am the Lord their God. But I will for their sakes remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the heathen, that I might be their God: I am the Lord.”

• God’s promise to Israel is as unmovable as the universe He created: God gives the ultimate recipe for the guaranteed destruction of Israel and the Jewish people, but He makes it impossible:

Jeremiah 31:35-37 KJV – “Thus saith the Lord, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The Lord of hosts is his name: If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the Lord, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever. Thus saith the Lord; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the Lord.”

These are seven points out of many more I could make to validate this claim. I am well aware that a biblical defense of Israel’s right to the land will only work with those who hold the Bible as the inerrant word of God. My measuring stick has been the Bible for the last 40 years, and I know that one day I will have to answer to God, not for my salvation which I received 40 years ago as a gift from God through the atoning sacrifice of Yeshua of Nazareth, but for how I served and obeyed after He rescued me. Many Bible believers today do not see a future for Israel and buy into the false narrative of the Palestinians as an ethnic group. It is to them that this article is addressed.

We cannot change God, we cannot change His character, and since His promises and covenants are rooted in His character, we cannot change them either. What people can always do, though, is to study the facts of history alongside the promises of the Bible. If Israel weren’t in God’s plan, from a human perspective, we would have been long gone, but we still exist and are growing stronger against all odds. So, the Bible is one aspect of why we survived all the attempts at decimating us.

Add history, politics, and archeology to that foundational truth, and the case is a slam dunk for those who are honest and humble enough to admit it.

God, Man, and the Coming Judgment: Part I – Terry James - https://terryjamesprophecyline.com/2023/01/23/god-man-and-the-coming-judgment-part-i/

Every prophet of God is inerrant in his foretellings given through God’s Word. Each prophecy must be considered solemnly and soberly. God said the following through one of His prophets, the Apostle Peter:

Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. (2 Pter 1:20–21)

Jesus’ Prophetic Words

How much more solemnly and soberly should we study the prophetic words of Jesus Christ, who is God Himself, with prayerful, reverential awe. It is with this realization, while pondering these strange times, that I was impressed to revisit the passages from one of the Lord’s prophecies I and others have used numerous times in thinking about things to come. I am usually hesitant to use such an extensive block of Scripture in this limited space. However, I believe it’s good to look at the prophecies involved here, rather than send you off to look up the Lord’s words elsewhere.

Jesus spoke about two specific past generations in order to forewarn one particular future generation, the generation that will be alive when He returns to intervene into the affairs of mankind.

And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. (Luke 17:26–27)

God’s People Hated, But Work Continues

The primary point I want to address here is that Noah and his seven family members had been pushed to the limits of their unwelcome status upon earth by the beastly, anti-God masses that inhabited the planet. Noah and the others had no choice but to trust God in His instructions to build the ark, in preparation for leaving their hate-filled environs. Noah didn’t know exactly what was going to happen, but he did trust God to deliver him and the others. The others were perhaps less certain than Noah of things to come, but the proverbial handwriting was on the wall. Violence and corruption filled the whole earth. Hatred against them was pressing in from every quarter.

They believed God was going to move by supernatural cataclysm as Noah preached forewarnings of certain judgment. These eight souls didn’t dig bunkers and gather weapons of war against the world of violent, corrupt earth-dwellers. They simply took God’s plan to construct the ark and carried it out to the letter. They trusted God, not humans, as they believed the day of God’s judgment and wrath would surely come. They were true believers. They took God at His Word, through His preacher, Noah.

While Noah and the others worked on constructing the vessel—which most likely no one could fully fathom (because it had never even rained, much less come a flood)—the mocking, demon-indwelt people threatened the believers, wanting these judgmental religious fanatics gone from their presence. Just as the hatred reached a crescendo, with the totally corrupted masses groping viciously to get their fingers around the throats of the believers, God told Noah to go inside the ark, now fully prepared, and the Lord himself sealed the door.

The “work” was complete. Noah and his family had carried out the Lord’s directive to build a vessel upon which anyone who would believe could enter for safety from His coming judgment. The God-haters got their way; the planet was rid of the religious nuts. God’s people were lifted above the floodwaters that destroyed all of incorrigibly wicked mankind.

The cities of Sodom and Gomorrah were likewise as corrupt as the whole world of Noah’s pre-Flood days. Jesus told us about Lot’s time, in continuing His prophecy of earth’s final days:

Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed. (Luke 17:28–30)

Day of the Lord a Stunning Surprise

Jesus was forewarning here of a specific “day” when He said:

Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

That is the day the entire book of the Revelation addresses. It is the day that begins, according to Jesus, like a “thief in the night” experience for the world.

Jesus prophesied about His stunning return to earth using metaphorical language that you and I would not use in describing our Lord. He said:

And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through. Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not. (Luke 12:39–40)

The apostles Paul and Peter addressed this special “day” using similar metaphorical language. Paul described how Jesus’ return at the end of the age will begin:

For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. (1 Thessalonians 5:2)

Peter foretold how the Lord’s second coming will begin, in describing that astounding “day”:

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. (2 Peter 3:10)

We should understand, then, that the “day of the Lord” starts Christ’s Second Coming from the moment He breaks in upon an unexpecting world of rebellious earth-dwellers. That “day of the Lord” lasts through to the complete remaking of the heavens and the earth, as reported by John, who recorded the vision he was given.

We can discern signals of the coming judgment of God in every direction we observe upon the prophetic landscape today. In the second part of this series, we will look further into how close our own time might be to the seven years of God’s judgment and wrath known as the Tribulation.

Meantime, if you are in God’s family through belief in the Lord Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross, always tell others about that saving power. Here is the message we are commissioned to take to the whole world of unbelievers.

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:9–10)

How do you know the end is near? - Amy L. Travis - https://amyltravis.substack.com/p/how-do-you-know-the-end-is-near

Read alarming proof that Jesus' return is imminent.

You don’t need to be an alarmist to know that the world, as we know it, is in deep trouble. Growing up in the 70s and 80s I could never imagine we would be witnessing the chaos that the world is currently experiencing.

Recently, I watched a short video clip from Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood from a kinder and gentler time. During each half-hour segment, Rogers spoke directly to his viewing audience—preschool children ages 2-5—about being yourself.

In this particular episode (circa 1970) Rogers is talking about gender. In his delightful way, Fred sings, “if you’re born a boy, you stay a boy…” He dares to continue, “only girls can grow up to be the mommies.”

Oh boy, how things have changed. It’s probably good that Fred didn’t live to witness this craziness. The poor guy would be canceled faster than he could say “could you be mine?” Watch the clip here, but be warned: you’ll have a hard time getting this song out of your head!

I had a conversation with a friend about the times we live in. She commented that she could literally “feel the evil.” We agreed it appears something terrible was unleashed throughout the world in the past few years.

The Beginning of the End

This spiritual darkness is not only obvious but also predictable. Thousands of years ago the Bible warned that evil will increase in the last days. But why? How does this happen and how do we know this isn’t just random? Can we be sure that our current condition is proof that the end of the world is near?

Deception is from Satan, but delusion comes from God.

That’s how you know. Consider the following headlines:

“Drag Queens make everything better.” See the article here.

“Harvard Medical School offers a course about healthcare for LGBTQIA+ 'infants'.” Read about this here.

“Britain's 'first non-binary CofE priest' says 'God loves variety'.” See the article here.

What in the World is going on? Even if you aren’t buying what these individuals/organizations are selling, we all know people who are—hook, line, and sinker.

Something appears to have shifted in recent days. Convincing someone that eating Fruity Pebbles every morning is good for them is one thing. What we’ve witnessed lately, however, is something very different.

If you missed my post on “The Times We Live In” from September, I encourage you to read it here.

“The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie, and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. For this reason, God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.” 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12.

Let’s break down the passage above and look at 4 ways that our current situation is a sign of Jesus’ soon return:

1.    Evil is increasing.

We’re living in an age characterized by evil. Just look around. Last week, 210 Democrats voted against the Born Alive Act—legislation that requires physicians to care for infants who are born alive following an attempted abortion.

Even Newsweek, a publication known for their left-of-center views, condemned their actions saying,

“The overwhelming majority of House Democrats, many of whom support abortion on demand, voted against it, even though abortion itself wasn't at issue. Their extreme reaction to the bill showcased just how out of step they still are with the majority of Americans' views on protecting the most vulnerable members of society.” Read the article here.

In what world would it be ok to allow a sick baby to die alone without receiving care? Just imagine if members of Congress tried to pass the same bill but substituted the word “baby” with “puppy”. They would be run out of town—and rightly so.

2.    People are easily deceived because they refuse to love the truth.

Deception has always been a thing. Since the fall of man, Satan has been lying to humanity. The devil is the original gas-lighter. And, unfortunately, history has shown that it’s easier to fool someone than to convince them that they have been fooled.

When you look at the storylines above, you can see how easy it is for us to be deceived. Every lie sounds good at face value but rejects a basic element of truth. For example, regardless of how “pretty” they look, these men are sexual predators who prey on children and should not have unfettered access to our school system.

Infants are not born the wrong sex. This fallacy denies the simple truth that God creates men and women in His image. Performing dangerous operations meant to sterilize healthy children is just as evil as withholding care from dying babies.

While God created human beings with a diversity of eye color, skin color, height, etc. He also declared at the beginning of human history that He created us male or female. When we deny basic biology, we are deceived.

3.    God is judging those who have rejected Him.

When God instructs us to avoid something such as sexual sin what He’s really saying is, “Don’t do it. This will hurt you.” As the Creator of the Universe, God designed the human body, mind, and spirit to function in a certain way. When we follow the instructions in the user guide, we can make the most of what we’ve been given as human beings. When we don’t, we forfeit many of the benefits such as peace, happiness, and fulfilling relationships.

His judgment often takes the form of natural consequences to our actions. For example, when we neglect our marriage, the relationship with our spouse will suffer. When we’re verbally abusive toward our children, our kids will rebel and act out. When we engage in sexual perversion, we open ourselves to pain, disease, and heartbreak.

“Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.” Galatians 6:7

4.    This age of “strong delusions” is paving the way for the Antichrist.

As long as there are people who love God and still seek His truth, the devil will not be able to unleash the hell on earth he has planned for humanity. This is why the Bible says that the “Man of Lawlessness” can’t be revealed until the true believers are taken out of the way. (This is referred to as the Rapture or the “catching away” of the Church.) We’ll discuss this more in the coming weeks.

The Wrap Up

We know that the end of the world is near when God sends “powerful delusions” to those who have rejected Him because it signifies the end of the Age of Grace. No one will be able to survive what comes next.

Do you have a relationship with Jesus Christ and are obeying His commands? I’m not asking if you are spiritual. I’m not talking about whether you go to church. Tragically, hell is full of religious people.

If you believe that Jesus has the power to save you from this darkness, you should be encouraged. But if you don’t know God personally, you should be terrified.

Recognize that—regardless of your age—you could be in the final 100 yards of a 26-mile race. The decisions you make now could affect where you spend all of eternity. Now is the time to focus on getting to know the Lord and what He requires from us so that you are not deceived.

Read the Bible. If have you never have before, I encourage you to read the gospel of Matthew (first book of the New Testament) and a couple chapters from Psalms and Proverbs each day. If you don’t have a Bible, I suggest reading the New Living Version on the Bible Gateway app.

If you have ANY questions, please reach out to us at loveandtruthbook@gmail.com . We would love an opportunity to talk with you.

Thanks so much for reading this very important message today and remember to always pursue the Truth.

Daily Jot: How to resist the WEF - Bill Wilson – www.dailyjot.com

A communist utopia with China as the model—this appears to be the unspoken goal of the World Economic Forum as it touts “collective” action on ambiguous areas such as climate control, health equity, finances, mobility, energy, food, education, and technology. These areas affect each of our lives and the WEF cabal intends to control us with the flip of a switch. When you look at the thousands of companies and world leaders who support this collective, it can seem overwhelming to try to resist it. But just like the Bible warns about taking the mark of the Beast in the end of days, we should practice not being part of the far reaching and tyrannical tentacles of the WEF.

A COVID-induced loss of life and subsequent economic recession, runaway inflation, and rising interest rates have dampened the progress of the globalist world order. Their handling of these macro issues is less than effective, giving a great deal of pause to the great reset. The Wall Street Journal, for example, reported that the mood at Davos was somber amid these worldwide economic woes post-COVID. This may lead some to believe that the global cabal overshot its command and control as the COVID vaccines were found to be ineffective and unsafe, leaving a rift of side effects and excess deaths in their wake; lockdowns were counterproductive because they ruined world economies, and the government-corporate partnerships proffered by the WEF proved incapable of handling the aftermath of their actions.

This general situation created by the WEF brain trust is destined to fail. The WEF success relies heavily on profit through collectivism, which we know only works for a handful. If WEF corporate partners face financial stress due to the failings or shortcomings of the government policy partners, the WEF house of cards starts collapsing. COVID provided the vehicle of policy control as supported by global corporations. Their lockdowns demonstrating population control threw the world into a recession where drug companies and medical firms prospered, but challenges are faced by the rest of the captains of industry. The media suffered credibility, and people started pushing back with a lack of confidence. Individuals can resist the WEF and its global play for tyranny by pushing along the failures of collectivism.

Don’t buy into what they are doing. Resist wokeness—you know what it is—the issues these people use to divide us. Speak and work against them. When they say something is moral, know that it’s immoral and don’t do it. Look at the list of companies that support WEF and try to boycott them. If everyone reduced their purchases from these companies even 10%, it would be a major financial issue for them. Take your money out of their investment funds, put it into other assets. Find ways to build community with your neighbors and friends. We all need support. Exchange food and services in helping one another. Pray and Act. As Christ said in John 13:34, “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.” Know who you are and be that person.

Daily Devotion: Take the Next Step - by Greg Laurie – www.harvest.org

As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby. —1 Peter 2:2

https://harvest.org/resources/devotion/take-the-next-step/ - Listen

It’s always amazing to watch a baby grow. Babies start with milk for nourishment, then move to baby food, and then are fed digestible adult food. And eventually they graduate to feeding themselves.

Growing up is a process, and we must nurture babies to maturity.

In the same way, when we come to Christ, we’re spiritual babies. The apostle Peter wrote, “As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby” (1 Peter 2:2 NKJV). At first, we need spiritual milk. Then we move to baby food, and then we consume food served in bite-sized pieces, which is called a sermon.

But the goal is to learn how to feed ourselves and prepare our own spiritual food, which means that we learn to study the Bible for ourselves.

However, some Christians have never taken the next step. They haven’t grown up spiritually. Although they’ve been Christians for quite some time, they never have really matured.

The writer of Hebrews said, “Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God” (6:1 NKJV).

It’s called growing up spiritually.

Paul wrote that God gave us leaders in the church to help us mature and to equip us for the work of ministry. But he also said, “We should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ” (Ephesians 4:14–15 NKJV).

There is more to living the Christian life than receiving forgiveness for our sins and the assurance of Heaven. Are you growing up spiritually?
