In addition to federal funding for Meals on Wheels programming, Merrick also relies heavily on donations from individuals and philanthropic foundations.

LOCAL HEROES HONORED AT ANNUAL VOLUNTEER RECOGNITION & AWARDS EVENT





A celebration of local heroes and community support, Merrick Community Services hosted its annual Volunteer Recognition & Awards event on Thursday, April 6th at St. Pascal's Baylon Church in Saint Paul. The event recognized the accomplishments of the 600+ volunteers and partners that help strengthen the East Side community and its families. See Photos HERE.

Congrats to  Swede Hollow Cafe for winning the March Food Drive "Feed a Family" Challenge! The restaurant beat out local partners

Hoopin' for Hunger Bracket Challenge

Congrats to the 2017 "Hoopin' for Hunger" Bracket Challenge Champion, Ryan Garvin. Ryan, pictured to the right curling 5lb weights, picked eventual champion North Carolina to beat out 16 other bracket competitors.

Merrick is seeking future leaders for  
Youth Leadership Council
 
Youth in grades 9th-12th are invited to apply for the Youth Leadership Council (YLC) for the 2017-2018 school year. Participants will gain valuable experience in team building, personal and professional development, as well as resume credentials for jobs and college! The YLC will advise and counsel Merrick's Youth Services department to be relevant and reflective of the community's needs.
