Silver Saints Matinee Presents:
The Greatest Game Ever Played
TODAY, Thursday April 16 at 1 PM
As a tip of the hat to the 2026 Masters Golf Tournament, your Silver Saints Matinee Movie for April 2026 is another really good golfing movie. “The Greatest Game Ever Played,” starring Shia LaBeouf, and Stephen Dillane, is a movie based on a true story of a young amateur golfer who finds himself in an incredible match with the World’s greatest golfer of the time. You asked for a feel-good movie. Come join us in the St. Thomas Parish Hall at 1:00 PM this afternoon.
The Silver Saints Movie Matinee offers fun and fellowship with our parishioners and visitors much like going to a theater, but free. We offer snacks and beverages, and we will even pick you up and return you home if you wish. We offer comfortable seating and a time-out break half way through the movie. Please bring your friends and ask people from our neighborhood.

Learn more about the gift of life
this Sunday, April 19!
This coming Sunday, April 19th, during the Sunday school hour, we will be hosting a presentation from LifeSouth in the parish hall. LifeSouth has been our local blood drive partner for many years.
The mission of LifeSouth is to provide a safe blood supply that meets or exceeds the needs in each community they serve, and to provide a variety of services in support of ongoing and emerging blood and transfusion-related activities.
I first encountered LifeSouth over 20 years ago when I participated in blood drives at my workplace in Courtland, Alabama. Much more recently, my wife, Kathy, benefitted greatly from the generosity of blood donors when she was treated for acute myeloid leukemia. She will tell you without hesitation that without blood donors, she would not be here with us today.
Please stick around after breakfast this Sunday to learn more about this vital organization and how they contribute to our community! Incidentally, our next St. Thomas blood drive will be on Sunday, May 3rd from 7:30 am to 1 pm. All donors will receive a T-shirt as a thank-you for giving the gift of life.

Aldridge Creek Tree Project Update
Alleluia, Christ is Risen……and trees are planted.
You may have noticed yellow flags around the property recently. These have been replaced with trees. 24 in all. There are 12 on the Northside of our property along the Greenway and 12 on the South end: 7 within the loop on the way down to the Greenway and 5 at the back of the City land that abuts the river.
Take a walk, and look at our lovely new trees.
Contact Belinda Greenaway via her email or Brett Byford via his email with questions.

Have you heard about Special Session? This weeklong camp for people of all abilities began at St. Thomas in 1998 and is now a beloved part of Camp McDowell’s summer program.
This year’s session runs May 30–June 5 for staff and June 1–5 for campers. This will be the 29th summer! Special Session offers a joyful, Spirit-filled environment where campers are fully welcomed, supported, and free to enjoy all the fun of camp. Over the years, it has become a meaningful reunion for many, while continuing to welcome new friends each summer.
Get involved
We are in need of nurses and counselors and always especially male counselors. Ages 15 can serve as counselors-in-training and 16+ as counselors. Visit the Special Session webpage HERE to find out more.
