| | Golden Girls & Boys Club Luncheon | | |
RSVP for
Saturday, June 13 at 11:30 AM
We are celebrating our Golden Girls and Boys on Saturday, June 13 at 11:30 am with a luncheon in the Parish Hall. If you or your spouse are 80 or over, you are the honoree: no cooking or baking or salad-making. You are our guests! We will have ham and side salads, cake, and lots of conversation.
This is a parish-wide party; those of us who can’t claim Golden status are encouraged and invited to attend. The only difference is that we do the salad-making to share with the honorees: green salads, potato salads, fruit salads, deviled eggs, dips and spreads, nuts and olives, cheese and crackers. All are welcome! If you can't attend but would like to honor these cherished members of our church, feel free to make a salad and drop it off in the Parish Hall.
If you do plan to attend, please RSVP by calling the church office at (256) 880-0247.

Newcomer Contacts
Volunteer Opportunity
Your Invite, Welcome, and Connect Committee is planning to offer a personalized point of contact or "coach" to our newcomers should they desire one. As a volunteer in this role, you would be the familiar face at church who helps ease them into our community or the person they can ask tough questions like, "Where is the Narthex?" and "What's the deal with all the lobsters?" We would like to create a list of St. Thomas parishioners who want to be placed in a catalog of coaches covering a range of backgrounds, interests, and demographics to match with our newcomers. We will begin offering volunteer forms in Information Hall THIS Sunday, June 7 along with an on-line volunteer form here.

You don't have to be the reigning St. Thomas Jeopardy champion or an esteemed Episcopal theologian to participate. If you enjoy sharing the warm St. Thomas spirit, we hope you'll join the roster.

Created in the Image of God
So God created humankind in his image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. --Genesis 1:27
My early journey of discovery about what stewardship might mean in my life began when a mentor encouraged me to be mindful of this verse from the Book of Genesis that tell us we are created in the image of God. If I am created in the image of God, who is God? What are the characteristics of God in whose image I have been created?
The first thing I realized is that God is a God of love. God loves humankind, loves us so much that God gave humankind the gift of God’s own son, Jesus. God loves me so much that God has given me all that I am and all that I call mine. So, if God is a God of love, and I am created in that image, I am called... CLICK TO CONTINUE READING...
