New Adult Christian Formation Class with our New Rector Begins This Sunday

Our new Rector, Donavan, is inviting everyone to come and get to know him better in his first Adult Christian Formation class starting this Sunday, January 15th! Each Sunday, at 9:30am through February 5th, Donavan will begin each class with a short discussion on the varied & different roads we can encounter in our spiritual journey of faith. He will then work to tie each of those different roads into his own personal faith journey, sharing personal stories that reveal the paths that led him to finding Jesus, then losing Jesus, and then finding Jesus again, to his entering the Episcopal Church & ordination into the priesthood over 15 years ago, to, finally, receiving the call to join us here at St. Thomas. This class will be a wonderful way to get to find out so much more about our new Rector and to compare your own walk with Jesus with his life, ministry, and understanding of church, Bible, and the spiritual life. This Sunday, the Adult Christian Formation class will be held in the church, so grab a quick breakfast and find a pew. Beginning Sunday, January 22nd, class will move back to the Parish Hall.

All New “Children’s Message” is coming to the 10:30 Worship Service on January 22nd!

In order to incorporate children into our Sunday morning worship every Sunday, beginning Sunday, January 22nd, Fr. Donavan will introduce a new 5 minute “Children’s Message” to every 10:30am Eucharist, happening just before the sermon. Each Sunday, from January 22nd onward, the procession to the Children’s Chapel will not begin until just after the Gospel is read. At that point, as the Gospel book is being returned to the altar, a short children’s hymn will be played and Miss Laura Beth will invite the children who usually attend Children’s Chapel to come to the front of the church and be seated in front of the altar. There, Fr. Donavan, will offer a special “Children’s Message” to the children, and when the message is finished, the music will begin again as the children follow Miss Laura Beth to Children’s Chapel. This addition of a Sunday Children’s Message at St. Thomas will be a new and exciting way to highlight our children and include them in our worship each and every Sunday!  So be sure to bring your children to take part with Fr. Donavan on Sunday, January 22nd, during the 10:30am Holy Eucharist!

Grief Group

The Grief Group will begin meeting again on January 17, at 10 AM. We'll also meet in February on the 14th and 28th at 10 AM.
