THE EPISTLE: October 5th, 2022

A Note from the St. Thomas Stewardship Team

“Every good and perfect gift is from above…” James 1:17

We invite you to think about the experience of worship that you have at St. Thomas. How does this shape the ways you express your love and gratitude to God?

Letters and pledge cards for 2023 were sent to homes last week. If you did not receive yours, call the church office at 256-880-0247, or pick one up on Sunday when you are here. We will bless all pledges received at our Ingathering on October 30. Thank you for making your financial support to St. Thomas!

As an expression of our love and gratitude for all God’s gifts, we worship God, serve others, and love all people.

Blessing of the Animals

Please join us for the annual Blessing of the Animals THIS Sunday, October 9 at 3:00 PM. No matter what type of animal you have – the 4-legged kind, the swimmers, the crawlers and the hoppers – bring ‘em on! All families will receive a dog or cat goodie bag. Even if you don’t have a pet, you are invited. It is a fun celebration of all God’s creatures. Don’t miss it.

Join us for our Quarterly Children's Service this upcoming Sunday, October 9 at 10:30am! Our children will read the day's lessons, and our Treble Choir will lead us in song.

Singers Wanted for Lessons & Carols

The choir is once again welcoming additional voices to join us for our Lessons & Carols Service, which will be held on Sunday, December 11. Weekly rehearsals will begin Wednesday, October 5; 7:00 - 7:40. Please contact Miss Kathy at [email protected] or 614-329-5991 if you're interested in joining us!

Building & Grounds Committee

Please join the Building and Grounds Committee at 8am on Saturday October 22nd for the fall clean-up day. This is a great opportunity to freshen up the church for Lobsterfest. Pulling weeds and cleaning up the labyrinth are just a couple of things we will be doing. Biscuits, doughnuts, and coffee will be provided. We hope to see everyone on October 22nd.  Bring your own tools, please.

The Regeneration Group (young families and other young-ish adults) is planning a Ladies Night Out/Guys Night In for October 22nd from 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. The ladies will be having dinner and fellowship at Stovehouse. The guys will be hanging out at the church with the kiddos. Please let Michell York or Laura Beth Bestor know if you're coming. You can email Laura Beth - [email protected] or text/call Michell - 256.682.5620. It should be fun!
