Due to increases in food prices, the Vestry voted this week to raise the price of Sunday morning breakfast, from $3 for individuals to $4 and from $7 for families to $10. Even with this slight raise in price, St. Thomas STILL has the best & cheapest Sunday breakfast in town!

Everybody's Pub Theology is TONIGHT at PaPPo's Pizza

The Easter Bunny still needs candy, stickers, or other little treats in plastic Easter eggs for our Easter Egg Hunt!


Bring friends and come fill your Easter baskets at the St. Thomas Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 8 and then stay for a hot dog lunch!  Our Easter Bunny still needs your help in collecting plastic Easter eggs filled with candy, stickers, or other little treats.  Look for the festive basket in Information Hall to drop off filled eggs. We are also need volunteers to hide eggs on the morning of April 8. Email our Children's Ministry Coordinator ([email protected]) if you would like to help. Email our Laura Beth Bestor, Children's Ministry Coordinator ([email protected]) if you would like to help.

'A Lenten Sojourn through the Blues' led by Fr. Donavan - Final Wednesday Night on March 29th!


Don't miss the final musical evening with Fr. Donavan and his Lent & the Blues Lenten Program, this upcoming Wednesday night! Join Fr. Donavan in the Parish Hall on more time as he explores our Lenten sojourn through the music, feeling, and theology of the Blues, in all its musical varieties, from the delta, to the mountains, and finally to the desert. For a final time, he will be performing live, as well as playing recordings from his own vast music collection, exploring the meaning of Lenten themes in our human life and Christian spirituality in the music of the Blues. 


Begin with a quiet, Taize worship service at 5:30pm in the church, followed by a Lenten supper of soup, salad, and bread at 6pm in the Parish Hall. Fr. Donavan will begin his program around 6:30pm, finishing with time for questions between 7 - 7:15pm. CHILDREN ARE WELCOME!

Church Clean Up Day is April 1st!


Please join us on Saturday, April 1st, for breakfast, fun, and fellowship as we tidy up St. Thomas for Easter. Breakfast will be served at 8am and the clean up will start at 8:30am. Please bring your work gloves and favorite gardening tools. Call either Ted Evans (256 457 9460) or David Hattaway (256 337 0973) if you have any questions.

"Crosses & Creole" for Regeneration Young Adults & Young Families


Join us Saturday, April 1st from 5PM-7:30PM as Young Adults and Adults with Children ages 0-18 gather to make Palm Crosses in preparation for Palm Sunday. This is a fun event for the adults to better get to know one another and our children to have fun! Dinner is provided for children. Children ages 0-5 will be in the nursery and we will have Kid's Movie Night for ages 6-10 the Youth Room. If you would like your child to participate in making of crosses we ask that each child have parental supervision if not participating in the nursery or the Movie Night. At 6:30 all ages will gather together for a bonfire and s'mores! Dinner for the adults will be a bit of a Creole mix! We will have some crawfish but also a build-your-own grits bowl with delicious Creole toppings! Please bring your own wine or beer-- non-alcoholic beverages will be provided. Easter Flower Envelopes are available in the pews through Palm Sunday, April 2nd


Easter flower dedication envelopes are in the pews if you'd like to make a donation ($50) in honor, memory or in thanksgiving for someone special. It's a wonderful way to both beautify our church and honor loved ones at the same time. Please be kind and print to ensure correct spelling. The envelopes can be left in the offertory plate or in the church office. All memorial envelopes must be received in the office before Tuesday, April 3.

St. Thomas Holy Week Seder Supper, Tuesday, April 4th


Here at St. Thomas, we will celebrate Seder on Tuesday, April 4 at 6 pm, in the Parish Hall. The meal will be provided for a donation of $10.00 per adult, $5 per child. We request reservations by Wednesday, March 29, as we need to order meat. Childcare and a meal will be provided for children. Sign-up online now via QR code below or in person in Information Hall on Sundays between services and after the 10:30am service.  

 

We also need volunteers to help set up the Parish Hall, prep the table food, and clean up. Sign-up sheets are on the Information Hall Bulletin Board.  Contact Mike or Laura Beth Bestor ([email protected]) if you have any questions.  

A St. Thomas Tradition on Easter Sunday


Easter Day is right around the corner and once again the choir will be inviting members of the congregation to join us in singing the Hallelujah Chorus at both the 8:00 and 10:30 services. Sheet music is available from the music office if you’d like a copy in advance. If you need to dust off your part, there are many tutorials on YouTube. Questions? Stations of the Cross for Lent Continues on Fridays at 12:10pm through March 31


Each Friday in Lent, through March 31st, Fr. Donavan will open up the church to lead anyone who'd like to join him through the fourteen Stations of the Cross. There will be a final Stations of the Cross service on Good Friday at 11am. Make the Stations of the Cross a part of your Lent and Holy Week devotion this year at St. Thomas.
