Grief Support Group - DATE CHANGE

The dates for the Grief Group have changed. The first meeting will be Wednesday, August 17th, and each Wednesday through September 21. The group will meet at 2:00, the location will be determined at the first meeting.

The Reverend Carl Malm, M.Div., will lead the group. He has been a Grief Counselor at The Center for Loss, Grief, and Change since 1999. He has held the position of Executive Director, Huntsville Association for Pastoral Care since 2015.

We need your help with the Bulletin Prayer lists!

In order to update the prayer list, please look at the extended list of “Those who are ill or in distress.” If you submitted a name and that person no longer needs prayers for a current situation please call the office or email Dorothy at to let her know.

Children's Ministry - THANK YOU!!!

A big thank you to all who attended and all who volunteered at Waterworks! Park VBS! We welcomed 46 children into the halls of St. Thomas for a week of fun and learning about God's love for each of us.

I am so thankful for the time, talent, and treasure that many of you put into making the week a success. Seeing and hearing the enthusiasm each morning and afternoon brought such joy to the church!

Honoring EfM Graduates

This Sunday, July 31, at the 10:30 service, we will honor graduates, Penny Nielsen, Elizabeth Cook, and Todd Jurhs, for their completion of the EfM four-year course at St. Thomas.

Education for Ministry (EfM) is a unique four-year distance learning certificate program in theological education based upon small-group study and practice.

EfM helps the faithful encounter the breadth and depth of the Christian tradition and bring it into conversation with their experiences of the world as they study, worship, and engage in theological reflection together.

The four-year course covers the study of the Old and New Testaments, the history of Christianity, and various Christian theologies.

Classes begin the day after Labor and meet every Tuesday evening from 6:15 – 8:00 through mid-May. Classes are held seminar style with an emphasis on what the student(s) what the students have discovered during their weekly readings.

Registration is now open for the 2022-2023. New students need to contact Sally Barnett (256-651-6545) or Jeannie Randall [email protected] for details.

Cost is $325.00 plus the cost of the text(s).

For more information check out the website: EfM.sewanee.
