The ETS Compass: February 2020
President’s State of the Company Address
(no standing applause needed 😊)
First, I want to thank our clients, partners and friends for your support over the past 18 years. 2020 will be our best year yet as ETS has some exciting news...
We have received a trademark for our ETS Client UserXperience®, formalized our written Technology Assessment, developed new service offerings, and we have invested in hiring experienced consulting and customer service team members, including a technology CEO who will take ETS to the next level.
ETS will be expanding our Executive Series events this year allowing our clients and business referral partners an opportunity to network, grow and learn. We will end the year with a 3-day CIO Concilium in August. Our “world renowned” CIO Issue Processing Session, a high-level dinner keynote speaker, and a servant leader partnership will be spotlighted at this event. Look for your personal invite to these events in the months to come.
When your life is marked by God, whatever you use for Him becomes His property. ETS is blessed to announce the formation and initial funding of the ETS Foundation, providing educational expense financial grants to disadvantaged students. This foundation will be a large part of our community service core value and providing a servant leadership mentality paying it forward as we create a $1M endowment. Look for more information on this organization over the next several months.
Gen 12:2 (God's call to Abraham) says “And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing.” One of our mottos is 'Blessed To Be A Blessing.' We are blessed to have each of you as part of our team.

Where do you want your kudos?

Do you want your boss to say, "Great job!" Or your spouse to say, "You look pretty or handsome." Or your peers to say, "Wow! Your company has really grown."

All of these feel good to hear, and these compliments are important.
For me, and for ETS Solutions, the ultimate compliment would come from God. We want to hear, "Well done thy good and faithful servant."
Romans 14:12 says, “Each of us will give an account of ourselves to God.”
I want to make sure our company, and myself personally, is a constant good steward of our time, treasure and talent.
What I am asking is, what is your ultimate compliment?

Keep your personal faith first.
Be BLESSED in all you do and say.

A Message from Jim Beard...
Why do small businesses need
cyber-security?

Cyber-attacks are the new normal for business today, and small businesses are the target of 43% of these attacks.

Statistically, the average  loss per attack is more than $188,000. Nearly   60% of small businesses fold  within six months of a cyber-attack.
Why are small businesses vulnerable to cyber-attacks?
  • They can’t afford dedicated IT staff.
  • Inadequate or non-existent computer and network security.
  • Lack of a solid backup plan.
  • Employees unknowingly assisting cyber criminals in attacking businesses.
  • Small businesses are comparatively easy to attack.

Here's 7 Tips for securing your small business from cyber-security threats:
  • Assess risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Have a plan for mobile devices.
  • Employee training is key to a successful protection strategy.
  • Follow best practices for passwords.
  • Use multi-factor authentication to login to apps and systems.
  • Update your software and systems continuously.
  • Backup all your data as protection against ransomware attacks.

Cyber-security  requires  a proactive action plan. At ETS Solutions, we provide a customized solution to fit your organization that helps you prioritize, solve and mediate security situations. We help ensure your plan is current, actionable and is free of any security gaps.

ETS in the Community!

This month, Christian spread the spirit of love through 'A Night to Shine' hosted by the Tim Tebow Foundation! Every year, Tim Tebow and his foundation host a prom for men and women with special needs. More than 655 churches nationwide and in 24 countries, supported by 200,000 volunteers, celebrated 100,000+ kings and queens who have been diagnosed with some form of special needs. Volunteers are able to sign up to be a date, where they spend all night with the guests doing a variety of activities - including karaoke, games, hair, makeup, and all-night dancing! The organization's mission is to bring Faith, Hope and Love to those needing a brighter day in their darkest hour of need.
Claire completed her first Meals on Wheels delivery this month! Even though the rain was pouring down, local seniors were still delivered their meals.
Meals on Wheels Atlanta helps to ensure no Atlanta area senior goes hungry, cold or forgotten! Meals On Wheels Atlanta (MOWA) was founded in 1965 to support seniors struggling with poverty, food insecurity, and social isolation. Over more than 50 years, they have grown from a small soup kitchen to an organization serving nearly 347,000 meals each year throughout the Atlanta area. They now offer multiple services to support both older adults and veterans, including home-delivered and congregate meals, home repair services, and an emergency food pantry.
Their mission is to support senior independence through meals, shelter, education and community. If you would like to volunteer to deliver meals, help with food prep or repair, reach out to Claire .
