The Mansion & Front Lawn
The sprawling green lawn leads up to the great Houmas Estate. Grand columns and impressive wrap-around porches perfectly frame the bride and groom as they exchange their vows. But weddings aren't the only event perfect for such a majestic back drop. Corporate dinners and rehearsal dinners are perfect events to take advantage of the cathedral of Live Oak trees and wide open space. To see photos from the front lawn, Click Here.
The Neptune Ballroom and The Grand Pavilion
The Neptune Ballroom is perfect for rehearsal dinners, corporate meetings and wedding receptions. With wall to wall windows, guests feel like they are part of the gardens while enjoying the air conditioning and ambiance of this elegant ballroom. The center piece for this space is a pre-Civil War submarine with a rock wall water feature. The Pavilion best suits large wedding receptions, corporate dinner parties, and cocktail parties. Also surrounded by large floor to ceiling windows, the Pavilion feels open and elegant with sweeping views of the Houmas House gardens. To learn more,  Click Here
The Carriage House and Latil's Landing
The Carriage House, a space that is both opulent and intimate, is perfect for special celebrations, rehearsal dinners, bridal luncheons and showers. The adjacent green (Animal Trophy) room offers a private setting for dinners.
This restaurant is also opened daily for lunch and dinner and is perfect for taking clients to lunch and celebrating a special occasion for dinner.
In the 1770's Houmas House was a simple six room cottage. Over the next century, Houmas House grew to 16,000 square feet and became known as The Sugar Palace. Today the original 1770's manor house is the home to Latil's Landing. This fine dining restaurant was named Top 20 New Restaurants in the US by Esquire Magazine and is continually noted for its creativity and impeccable service.
There are four intimate dining rooms, each overlooking a courtyard featuring a lily pond with a lighted fountain. Whether it's an anniversary, birthday, or special gathering, Latil's can offer the privacy and unique experience not found anywhere in Plantation Country.
The Great River Road Museum and Amphitheater
By day, The Great River Road Museum is an immersive experience presenting life along the lower Mississippi River in the 1800's. But once the sun sets, it can become a beautiful setting for large events like concerts, banquets and galas. Boasting tall ceilings and a wide-open space, this venue is our newest and most sought after for events on a grand scale.

The Amphitheater offers sweeping views of the Great River Road Museum and Japanese Tea House with ambiance courtesy of dancing fountains. This multi-level space is perfect for live music, grand dinners and dancing.  The wide open are is great for light shows and fireworks displays.

Author Olaf Schmidt tells the true story of Louise von Seybold, a young woman growing up in 19th century Bavaria, eager to escape the monotony of a predetermined life plan. Her dreams seem to come true when she falls in love with a handsome stranger named Valsin Bozonnier-Marmillion, who takes her across the ocean to live in one of Louisiana's most spectacular mansions. But what happens on the day of their arrival puts an end to all romantic cliches and leaves the couple in a state of shock. Louise and Valsin are forced to battle epidemics and personal illness, accidents and natural disasters, only to find their entire existence threatened by America's great tragedy, the Civil War. In almost 100 letters written to her mother and sisters in Bavaria, Louise creates a sweeping panorama of the American South during its historical downfall. Illustrated by countless images and documents, this book offers a uniquely authentic window into a period of history that continues to have a dramatic impact on contemporary United States culture and society.
This is a hardback book and measures 9"x11".
