Meet the Skigles!

Last season produced our best-ever results with race wins, podium finishes and top-30 placings in several Collegiate, FIS and Nor-Am races. This year the Eagles anticipate continuing their upward flight, with a dedicated group of returning athletes and perhaps our most promising group of new freshmen.

The CMC Eagles Ski Team offers a solid path for talented skiers looking to compete at the highest levels of the sport, while pursuing a college education. This team, unlike other college teams and elite training programs, offers the highest level of coaching and training, as well as a broad range of educational opportunities, all in the closest proximity to its alpine training venues. Our team trains just minutes/steps from campus at Steamboat Resort and Howelsen Hill in Steamboat Springs.

Want to cheer on your CMC Skigles? Come to CMC for post-race refreshments and to meet the athletes, coaches, and other Skigles supporters after the Murphy Roberts Holiday Classic on December 19th from 5 - 6 pm at the CMC Steamboat – Academic Center 1275 Crawford Avenue – 3rd Floor Eagle’s Nest. Please contact Amy Stern to RSVP – [email protected]

Or catch the Skigles at a mountain near you in the 22-23 season

CMC Foundation launches employee assistance fund

The CMCF is excited to announce our new Employee Emergency Fund to provide additional support for CMC employees. The fund will be distributed to faculty and staff who are experiencing financial hardship such as a sudden change in living situation, effects from a natural disaster, or impacts felt from an unprecedented circumstance. Funds are distributed on a case-by-case basis and can cover anything from groceries to utility bills to car repairs.

This is a new way we can ensure that those who dedicate themselves to doing everything possible to help our students succeed have the support they need when they need it most.

This new fund is a reflection of the already existing Student Emergency Fund (a/k/a the “No Barriers” Fund) which offers assistance for student emergencies or unexpected needs. Awards from this fund have an immediate impact and have made a significant difference in the lives of hundreds of CMC students.

Summit County Nursing Simulation & Outdoor Skills Lab

CMC is responding to the growing need for trained healthcare providers in our mountain community by constructing a new high-fidelity nursing simulation lab at the CMC Breckenridge campus that will double the number of nursing students the campus can enroll annually.

Plans for the Breckenridge campus also include the addition of an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) / Outdoor Education Technician (OUT) / Wilderness Emergency Medical Services (WEMS) skills lab, including a two-story repelling wall, to facilitate training of qualified graduates that can respond during emergency care situations.

The CMC Foundation is currently seeking donors to help raise the $2 million needed to finance the construction of this 7,761-square-foot facility.

Your gift to the Summit County Skills Lab is more than just a donation, it is an investment in your health and safety as you live, work and play in these beautiful mountain communities.
