The Colorado League of Charter Schools has also invited our community to fill out this form   to share why your CCA teacher is special and how they make a difference in the lives of their students. CCA Parent Board Update
Meet the Candidates: May 14th at 5:00 p.m.

CCA will hold an election for new Board members commencing May 15th at 7:00 a.m. through May 22nd at 3:00 p.m. Candidates biographies and photographs are available on the CCA website.

The Election will be held by electronic ballot. A unique and confidential electronic ballot will be sent to the email address listed in PowerSchool for each parent/guardian. Please visit by clicking here to verify or update your email address in PowerSchool.

CCA's Town Hall meeting will follow the Meet the Candidates event and begin at 6:00 p.m on May 14th. The School Accountability Committee will report the SAC Climate Survey results and CCA Leadership will present information about what is happening at our school. You are also invited to stay for the May Board meeting at 7:00 p.m.
It's Junior Achievement Day and our students are so excited! Our volunteers arrived early this morning and we're so happy to have them here helping our students learn important financial life skills! A huge thank you to all of our volunteers that are here helping out, and to Mrs. MacFarland for organizing and spearheading this fantastic event!
Today is the Parent Information Network's (P.I.N.) annual brunch. Jill Farmer, EMMY award-winning reporter and TV anchor, time management expert, and author of the Amazon best-seller "There's not Enough Time...and Other Lies we Tell Ourselves" will be presenting on "how to get more meaningful work done in less time." Ms. Farmer is also CCA parent and Board member Annie Harnett's sister and we would love to have a large CCA presence. If you were unable to attend this morning's brunch, please join us at the evening presentation.Tonight's presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m. and go until 8:15 p.m and will be located at 14603 E. The 7th and 8th grade Drama and Set Design students invite you to their production two one act plays, "Game of Tiaras" and "Ride Share Over Share."

Doors open at 6:00 p.m., and the first play begins at 6:30 p.m.

Great job to our students who completed our weekend challenge. Thank you for helping us work toward our $20,000 goal! The entire school now has a 50 STATE CHALLENGE! I f CCA receives a pledge of any amount from all 50 states by Friday, May 3rd, then Ms. Mahan and Mr. H will Silly Stringed at the Fun Run!!  Help your students connect to sponsors and enter those pledges at . All students are included in the Fun Run, regardless of financial participation. Remember, students will be running 30-35 laps, and we would love for you to come out and cheer! Thank you for supporting our school. We hope to see you Friday at the Fun Run!

Fun Run Schedule

  • K - 2: 8:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.
  • 3 - 4: 9:45 a.m. - 10:45 a.m.
  • 5 - 6: 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
  • 7 - 8: 12:15 p.m. - 1:15 p.m.
CCA will have a magnificent art display at our annual Art and Music Festival on Thursday, May 9th from 6 - 8:00 p.m. CCA student artists, creators, designers, and musical talents will unite for one night to bring you a dazzling display of unsurpassed excellence.
CCA’s brilliant art instructors have chosen our students finest pieces and line our hallways with incredible masterpieces.
For your listening pleasure, CCA students in grades K- 6, band, and choir will also perform at this event.

During the Parent-Teacher conferences held in February, an awesome group of 3rd graders fundraised for children in need by selling snacks, crafts and other items. In that single day, our community helped them raise $500. Mr. & Mrs. Awada, CCA parents and the owners of Colorado Auto Finders decided to also donate, bringing the total to $1500. Cherry Creek Academy students will present their check to Children’s Colorado on May 10th at 8:30 a.m. on the field at Cherry Creek Academy. We invite the community to join us for this special display of kind inspired kindness and philanthropy.
Due to the abundance of interest and participation, we've made a few changes to our GT Student Spotlight event. Students will have their projects displayed in the gym on Friday, May 17th from 8:45 to 10:30 a.m. This change will also allow CCA students to visit the GT Student Spotlight event during the school day with their classes. We hope that you will all join us to see this amazing display of student projects.
CCA's 2nd Annual Spirit Week was AWESOME! A special shout out to Mrs. Labozan and Mrs. Tench for all their hard work that went into organizing this!

On Thursday, CCA also welcomed staff children for "Bring Your Child(ren) to Work Day. I t was so much fun listening to the staff kids talk about all the great things they experienced including a birthday celebration with donuts, recess with newly made friends, music class that reinvigorated a passion for singing, science outside, & the funnest p.e. class ever! 
Don't forget students are still working hard on AR goals! Students who meet the following requirements by the end of the year, become members of the 100 Point Club and are awarded a customized medal engraved with their name.
Yearly Point Requirements by Grade
Kindergarten - 45 AR points
First Grade - 65 AR points
Second Grade - 90 AR points
Third through Sixth Grades - 100 AR points
Seventh and Eighth Grades - 125 AR points
Seventh and Eighth Grade students may take AR quizzes to earn points, even though they have no Accelerated Reader requirement.
The points and a cumulative quiz average of 85 percent must be earned by Friday, May 3rd.
Another congratulations is in order for our magnificent Mathletes! Mrs. Nair and Mr. Loomis pleased to share that the CCA Mathletes did really well in the Noetic Competition that was held on April 4th.

Naren M (7th grade ) and Saksham H (6th grade) received National honor medals. Please find all the results for our school here .
Cherry Creek Academy will not be hosting Champions or offering tutoring this summer; however, many fun child care options and learning opportunities are available.

Arapahoe Library will also have a summer reading program for all ages beginning June 1st. For more information on the Arapahoe Libraries Summer Reading program, please click here. A rapahoe Libraries will also be visiting CCA on May 10th from 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. to help students set up library cards, answer questions about the summer reading program, and share information about all the awesome FREE resources the library system has. In addition to answering questions, the representative will visit classrooms to read a book with our students and to share cool free sources the library has for students and families year round!

Denver University will have a Pioneer Athletic Super Summer (P.A.S.S.) Camp. It is a weekly sports and wellness summer camp for campers ages 5–11. For more information on P.A.S.S. Camp, please click here .

In addition to these fabulous summer opportunities, CCA will be emailing out readiness packets closer to the end of the school year. Completion of these packets are not required and are optional for students. In addition to these packets, CCA will also have required and recommended reading this summer. The reading lists will be available on the CCA website in the upcoming weeks.
King Soopers Community Rewards
A Few Changes
The PTO's King Soopers fundraiser is changing. Our community will no longer have to use the gift cards for their purchases. Please log into your King Soopers account. Once logged into your King Soopers account, click on King Soopers Community Rewards under the Save tab. You will then search for Cherry Creek Academy either by name or GW800 and then click Enroll. Once enrolled, CCA's PTO will earn a percentage of your sales every time you use your loyalty card/number.

Connecting your King Soopers account with CCA can count for one volunteer hour.

Science Club: Scienceletes
2019-2020 School Year
CCA is interested in developing a science club for 5th - 8th grade students. The goal of the club is to provide space and support for students who wish to compete in the Denver Metro Science Fair. The competition is open to grades 6-8, but 5th graders will be welcome to participate in the club to get a head start in developing competition-worthy projects. Club fee will be $100 per student, and covers basic supplies and competition registration. Mr. Gunning will be leading the club, with the help of Mrs. Priya and Mr. Nolen.
