School begins promptly at 8:00 a.m. We ask that students arrive by 7:50 a.m. to allow them sufficient time to prepare for their day.

Champions provides before school supervision beginning at 6:30 a.m.

Any students not attending Champions or a before school extracurricular activity, should be dropped over no earlier than 7:30 a.m.
Mrs. Schierkolk, CCA's lunchroom supervisor, would like to remind parents that microwaves are not available for student use. Please do not send microwavable foods for your child(ren)'s lunches.
The PTO is currently accepting Friday T Shirt orders. This year the PTO will place one large order at the beginning of the year only. Students are allowed to wear these fun shirts on Fridays.

Please turn the Friday Shirt Order form in to the CCA front desk by August 23rd. You can get a copy of the form at the CCA front desk or click here to print one out. Please make checks payable Cherry Creek Academy PTO. Payments can also be made online here .
It was a fantastic first week. Students in first through eighth grades started on Tuesday, and our new kindergarteners joined us on Thursday. We're definitely enjoying having students back! Our teachers have started the year off with many new and exciting things, including really creative lesson plans that capture our students' interest. Many of our teachers also debuted new teacher pages. Teacher newsletters have also gotten a makeover and will be posted on our teacher pages. Core teacher newsletters will be emailed on Monday afternoons. This year our specials teachers will also be emailing out newsletters on the first Monday of every month. Please ensure that your contact information is updated at so that you receive communication from our school.

The 1:1 roll out at CCA has gone wonderfully. Our amazing tech team has worked really hard ensuring all of our students Chromebooks are in proper working order. Student are really enjoying having their own Chromebooks to use! If you have not yet done so, please read and review the Student/Parent Chromebook Handbook and sign the Acknowledgment Forms .
There have also been some exciting changes for our fifth and sixth grade students! Students in fifth and sixth grades with be participating in "Advise Time" each morning. Advise time is designed to give students targeted support in each of their classes, as well as provide time for independent exploration, reading, recess, organizational help, and study hall. Students will have the opportunity to help choose their advise schedule each week. Sometimes they will be required to attend certain workshops, other days they will have their choice of activities. 
Our parents and students in grades seven & eight are invited to an Open House this Thursday, August 15, 2019 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Our seventh and eighth grade team looks forward to meeting with you and sharing an update on academic expectations, routines and procedures for seventh & eighth grade. 
Tonight CCA's music teacher, Mr. White, will have an informational meeting for parents and students in his classroom at 6:00 p.m. regarding band and at 6:30 p.m. regarding choir. During the meeting Mr. White will also share information about outside band instructors who are willing to contract with parents to provide one on one lessons to CCA students. Mr. White, our CCA music teacher will be offering band to our students in grades five through eight after school twice a week during the 2019-2020 school year. Students will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:25 pm to 4:15 pm. Mr. White will also be offering choir to our students in grades 5-8 after school twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:25 to 4:15 p.m.
Mrs. Fitt will host choir for elementary school students in grades second through fourth this year. These choir students will meet on Wednesday afternoons from dismissal until 4:15 p.m. in Mrs. MacFarland's room. If your student is interested please print and complete the registration form available here . Students in grades five through eight are also invited to join Student Council. Student council meetings are Friday mornings at 7:30 a.m. in the CCA Innovation Space. The Fall sports informational meeting will be in Mr. Mahan’s room tomorrow, Tuesday Aug 13th, at 7:30 a.m. CCA is it excited to announce that we will be offering COED Cross Country for fifth through eighth grade students. Registration for CoEd Cross Country, Girls Volleyball and Boys Soccer is now open. You can access the registration form here . Athletic fees can be paid online here .

Practice for all sports will start on Monday, August 19th.

Practice for soccer and volleyball are 3:30 p.m. -4:45 p.m. Monday-Thursday.

Cross Country runs will be held Monday, Tuesday, and Friday, 3:30 p.m. -4:45 p.m.

CCA is also excited to start Scienceletes, a science club for students in grades six through eight this year. The goal of the club is to help nurture the curiosity in our budding scientists.

Scienceletes will be coached by Mr. Gunning with the help of Mr. Nolen and Mrs. Priya.

CCA is excited to have Mathletes, CCA's math club, for its students in grades 2 - 8 this year. The goal of Mathletes is to enhance your student’s love of math and inculcate confidence and team spirit in its members. The first Mathlete meeting for 2nd grade is September 9 th from 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. After that, 2 nd grade Mathletes will meet on the first Monday of every month
The first Mathlete meetings for students in grades 3 - 8 will be held on August 30 th . Following the first meeting, Mathlete meetings for students in grades 3 -8 will be held on the 2 nd and 4 th Fridays every month , with certain exceptions. In the event of inclement weather, the club meeting will be held the following Friday.
  • Grades 3 - 5: 3:30 - 4:30 p.m.
  • Grades 6-8: 3:45 - 4:45 p.m.

We have lots of wonderful volunteer opportunities right now!
Per the  Cherry Creek Academy Volunteer Policy , all parents/legal guardians of children at CCA shall volunteer as outlined below:  
• Two parent family – 40 hours, per school year (both parents in the same household) 
• Joint parenting family – 20 hours each parent, a total of 40 hours, per school year (parents in separate households, but both responsible for child’s care) 
• Single parent family – 20 hours, per school year (one parent solely responsible for child’s care)

Cub Scouts at CCA
Cub Scouts at CCA is looking forward to a great year and would love to have new students in kindergarten through fifth grade to join their pack.

They will be hosting a new scout sign up, Wednesday, August 14th in the CCA library from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. They will have an activity for children to participate in while parents and guardians complete the required paperwork.

Each child in your immediate family will receive a wristband and 10 tickets each, courtesy of your PTO Activity Fee. Tentative ticket values are 1-4 for food, 2-3 for beverages, and 2 for face painting. Adults will not receive any tickets.
¨  Each Carnival participant MUST have a wristband*. Adults DO NOT need a wristband.
¨  Wristbands grant access to carnival games, cotton candy, popcorn, & inflatables (tentative).
¨  CCA students, family members and friends are invited to attend. (Additional kids outside immediate CCA families can purchase wristband for $8.50 each)
¨  Students must be accompanied by an adult the night of the carnival.
¨  Additional tickets and wristbands will be available for purchase the night of the carnival. Purchases are NON-REFUNDABLE. CASH ONLY please.

Wholesome Food Services provides CCA students with a delicious and nutritious variety of great lunch choices from  Jamba Juice, California Pizza Kitchen, Wahoo's Fish Taco, Which Wich, Tokyo Jo's, Garlic Knot, PF Chang's, and more.

  • You can place orders up until 1 PM the day before delivery
  • You can order up to 60 days in advance
  • You can cancel up until 8 AM the day of delivery

Before & After-school Care
Champions will be our before and after school program for the 2019-2020 school year.

Champions will be available 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Please refer to the Champions website , for more information about their program.

Please note:  Students NOT picked up from school by 3:50 p.m. or 15 minutes after the last dismissal time from classes or after school activities such as clubs, team sports, or tutoring, will be sent to Champions and the parent will be charged a supervision fee when the student is picked up.  All families are required to register their student(s) on Champions website to ensure each student’s emergency information is on file.

Community Events
The Cherry Creek High School Cheerleaders are hosting a one day cheer clinic for students in kindergarten through eighth grade on August 24th at Cherry Creek High School from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. The attendees will learn cheers and a routine to perform at halftime of the September 6th Varsity Football Game.   Please register by August 15th. The Cherry Creek High School Varsity Poms team is hosting their annual Fall Poms Camp at Cherry Creek High School for students in kindergarten through eighth grade on Friday, August 30th from 4:30 - 7:30 p.m. The attendees will learn basic pom technique and a football halftime dance that they will perform on that same day at the Cherry Creek High School varsity football game.
