Multicultural Festival: Volunteers Needed

Are you excited about celebrating the different cultures of the world with a fun filled evening of music, dance, food, and activities from various countries? 

The  2019  CCA Multicultural Festival will be celebrated on Friday, March 29, 2019 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday at  Cherry Creek High School  (Information Center Building).

The following countries/continents/cultures will be represented at our festival this year: Mexico, Tajikistan, Russia, Ireland, India, Lebanon, Tatarstan, and Ethiopia!

Attention CCA Alumni: Scholarship Available
Applications due April 17
The CCA Foundation is offering a $1,000 scholarship for current seniors in high school.

Alumni who attended CCA through 8 th   grade (and are presently graduating seniors) are eligible for this scholarship and may use it toward their college of choice. Information will soon be mailed to all potential candidates and completed applications are due back no later than April 17, 2019.

Accelerated Reader Reading Competition
February 25 - March 28
Our K - 6 students are doing an amazing job in the AR Reading Competition. Both teams earned Cool Shades Day last week.

The Dolphins have kept their lead this week with 1574 points and have earned a special activity during library. Sharks are not far behind with 1311 points and are well on their way to earning their special activity too! Keep up the great work everyone! For more information on the competition, click here.
Pi(e) Day: Pie Please

Pi Day, March 14, 2019 is an annual celebration for CCA middle school students. We are looking for volunteers to make this event a success. Even though this is a middle school event, Elementary school parents are welcome to volunteer and/or bring in pies. For information on signing up to volunteer, please click here for more information.

March is Youth Art Month. The Youth Art Month Art Reception has been postponed to Thursday, March 14, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at The Curtis Center for the Arts . If you are not able to make it for the reception, the exhibit runs through Saturday, March 30, 2019. The Curtis Center's hours are M-F 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and Sat 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.  Congratulations to the following students who have been selected by CCA's Art Teachers to represent our school.

Junior Achievement (JA) Day

JA programs "equip students with the tools they need to find their own success in our competitive and challenging global workforce."  

In order to make this day a success, CCA relies on volunteers. JA provides each volunteer with an age appropriate curriculum designed to provide hands-on activities. CCA is in need of two volunteers for each classroom. 

Mathletes: Summer Camp
July 8 - July 11
CCA Mathletes are planning to host a math filled summer camp from Monday, July 8 - Thursday, July 11. Campers will develop skills to solve complicated mathematical problems. The fee for this camp is yet to be determined.

Morning session:  8 a.m.-12 p.m. ( snacks and drinks included)

Afternoon session : 1 - 5 pm. ( Snacks and drinks included)
Eagle Athletics

2019 Board Election & Meeting Information
Please join the CCA Board for their monthly meeting, tonight, March 12, at 6:00 p.m. in our library.
Nomination & Biography forms for the CCA Board of Directors election are available here .


There are three open positions on the Board for the 2019 Election. The term for each Board position is three years.

It is important for all candidates to truly understand the roles and responsibilities of joining the Board prior to considering a Board position. Please review the Candidate Eligibility Requirements listed below.
  • Potential candidates must attend a minimum of two (2) regular CCA Board meetings during the nine (9) months prior to the April Board meeting. The March Board meeting is an eligible meeting for this requirement.

  • Potential candidates must interview with at least one (1) current Board member prior to the nomination form submittal deadline.

  • Potential candidates must agree to complete all required "Board modules" if elected. They must also agree to abide by the Code of Conduct, Duty of Care and Loyalty and Conflict of Interests policies.

  • Potential candidates must agree to abide by the CCA Non-Negotiables.

  • CCA staff members and spouses of CCA staff members are not allowed to run for the CCA Board.

  • Only one parent or legal guardian per family may serve on the CCA Board at the same time.

  • In order to be eligible to run for the CCA Board, candidates must have at least one student who is returning to CCA for the 2019-20 school year.

  • In order to be eligible to run for the CCA Board, candidates must have completed and have documented at least 50% of their annual volunteer hours by the time of nomination.
