CCA's Field Day will be on Friday, May 24th. Students in grades K - 8 are welcome to participate and you can view the Field Day schedule here. Please note this is also a half day and students will be dismissed according to the early dismissal schedule.
Please remember to collect your student’s medications from the health clinic before the end of the school year.

  • All students entering sixth grade are required to receive the mandatory Tdap immunization. Please click here to access the letter from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.

  • CCSD has removed cough drops and tums from the approved over the counter medication list. PLEASE BE ADVISED, STARTING NEXT SCHOOL YEAR OUR NURSE WILL NO LONGER PROVIDE COUGH DROPS OR TUMS TO STUDENTS. You may send these items with your student for their personal use.   
As the 18 - 19 school year winds down, we are reminded of what an awesome school we have. Congratulations to our students who worked so hard and accomplished amazing things this year. A HUGE thank you to our amazing parent community for supporting our students and staff. We couldn't do it without you! To our amazing teachers, you have made a difference in the lives of our students and your impact will reach farther than we can imagine. We truly have the best teachers! We are excited for the 19 -20 school year! Next year's school calendar can be accessed here . You will receive information about classroom placement for your child(ren) via email on August 1st. Please make sure all of your contact information is updated in PowerSchool. If you would like assistance updating your information in PowerSchool or completing Cherry Creek School District enrollment/registration and parent forms, please email Chelsea Anderson, our Communications Director, at .
During the summer, our Eagle Newsletter will go out biweekly on the following dates: May 28, June 11, June 25, July 9, and July 23. Beginning August 5, the Eagle will be published on Mondays at 12:30 p.m. and the deadline for submissions will move to Friday at 8:00 a.m.

CCA will also have limited office hours on Tuesday - Thursday during the summer. Please note the dates and times below:

  • May 28, 29 & 30 - Our CCA Office will be open 7:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
  • June 4, 5 & 6  - Our CCA Office will be open 7:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
  • June 11, 12 & 13 - Our CCA office will be open 7:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
  • June 18, 19 & 20 - Our CCA Office will be open 7:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
  • June 25, 26 & 27 - Our CCA Office will be open 7:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

On August 1, 2019 our CCA office will officially open for the 2019-2020 School Year.

Cherry Creek Academy will not be hosting Champions or offering tutoring this summer; however, many fun child care options and learning opportunities are available.

Mathletes is hosting a math filled summer camp from Monday, July 8 - Thursday, July 11. To register for the summer Mathletes camp, please click here.

Cherry Creek School District has extended an invitation to CCA students for an amazing summer learning opportunity. For more information on this program and the registration link, please click here.

Cherry Creek School District also offers a variety of Summer Sport Camps that can be accessed by clicking here.

Arapahoe Library will also have a summer reading program for all ages beginning June 1st. For more information on the Arapahoe Libraries Summer Reading program, please click here. A rapahoe Libraries will also be visiting CCA on May 10th from 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. to help students set up library cards, answer questions about the summer reading program, and share information about all the awesome FREE resources the library system has. In addition to answering questions, the representative will visit classrooms to read a book with our students and to share cool free sources the library has for students and families year round!

Denver University will have a Pioneer Athletic Super Summer (P.A.S.S.) Camp. It is a weekly sports and wellness summer camp for campers ages 5–11. For more information on P.A.S.S. Camp, please click here .

In addition to these fabulous summer opportunities, CCA will be emailing out readiness packets on Friday, May 24. Completion of these packets are not required and are optional for students. While the Readiness packets are optional, CCA students DO have required and recommended reading this summer. The reading lists are available on the CCA website and by clicking here.
CCA Parent Board Update
Voting Closes Tomorrow, May 22 at 3:00 p.m.

The Election is held by an electronic ballot. A unique and confidential electronic ballot was emailed out on Monday, May 15. If you did not receive and email, please contact Hethyr Fouse, CCA's Technology and Assessment Director, at .

CCA PTO Announcements
The CCA PTO is now accepting donations of gently used uniforms for the Used Uniform Sale in Fall. Please know that all items collected will be strictly donation based and the sale will no longer be a consignment sale. A donation box is set up in the lobby. CCA is also considering hosting a rummage sale over the summer where parents can sell items, including uniforms. More information about this will be available in the future.

Because the sale is now donation only, the PTO would also like your input regarding the price of used uniforms. Please weigh in with your opinion by clicking here. This survey closes, Friday, May 24, 2019.

Please support the CCA PTO by purchasing your 19-20 school supplies through EPI . Orders are due no later than June 16, 2019.

The PTO's King Soopers fundraiser has recently changed. Our community will no longer have to use the gift cards for their purchases. Please log into your King Soopers account. Once logged into your King Soopers account, click on King Soopers Community Rewards under the Save tab. You will then search for Cherry Creek Academy either by name or GW800 and then click Enroll. Once enrolled, CCA's PTO will earn a percentage of your sales every time you use your loyalty card/number.

Connecting your King Soopers account with CCA can count for one volunteer hour.

CCA Foundation Announcements
The CCA Foundation would like to thank everyone for a very successful 2019 Flying Eagles Fun Run! Together we exceeded our goal of $20,000, and raised over $26,759 that will go directly to CCA for technology tools and classroom instructional materials. Many thanks to those who reached out to family and friends. We received donations from 32 states, and 9 countries including Australia, Canada, Egypt, Germany, Hong Kong, India, South Korea, Latvia, and Russia. You all did an amazing job! Thank you also to our wonderful volunteers for helping make the fun run a smashing success!
Music News
Calling in all Instruments
It is time for students to turn in all school owned instruments and music folders.

Any personal instruments left in the music storage room after May 24, 2019 will be assumed and cataloged as school owned; and any repairs made by the school after that date will need to be reimbursed if students would like to reclaim their instruments.

Any students wanting to practice with a school owned instrument over the summer may do so. Please contact Mr. White , CCA's 2 - 8 music teacher at .

Elementary grade students will be playing recorders next year. Families are welcome to purchase a recorder for their student, but this is not required and CCA has a classroom set for students to use.
Science Club: Scienceletes
2019-2020 School Year
CCA is interested in developing a science club for 5th - 8th grade students. The goal of the club is to provide space and support for students who wish to compete in the Denver Metro Science Fair. The competition is open to grades 6-8, but 5th graders will be welcome to participate in the club to get a head start in developing competition-worthy projects. Club fee will be $100 per student, and covers basic supplies and competition registration. Mr. Gunning will be leading the club, with the help of Mrs. Priya and Mr. Nolen.
