"BE YOURSELF. TRY YOUR BEST. NEVER BE AFRAID TO DREAM."
-SHARON CHRISTA MCAULIFFE

This week we extended our Learning Connection for the incoming 6th grade students! Check it out, and if you know a current 5th grader, give them a shout out and a welcome :)
Dear McAuliffe Parents and Families,

As we work together to navigate this time of virtual learning, I want to thank each and every one of you for your ongoing support. I know we communicate over a lot of avenues! The Eagle Eye will continue to be a highlight of student life during virtual learning, and a spotlight on different upcoming events and changes.

Ways to keep your student connected:
  • The Birdwatch Student News Source--student journalists keep us up to date with events around the world in our own community!
  • McAuliffe Learning Connection Home Page--your one stop shop for everything your student will need to navigate the school closure. Links to every teacher's Google Classroom, links to our daily Morning Announcements, links to speak to a counselor, links to Speech and Language services, and more school resources updated regularly!
  • Los Alamitos Unified Learning Connection providing you resources at the district level.
  • McAuliffe Website--updated regularly with all our school wide resources and another hub for important links!
  • Follow us on Instagram! Follow all your favorite teachers and department accounts on Instagram as we navigate the school closure. Share your journey with us by posting your pictures and using #mcauliffeathome. Complete list of Instagram accounts below.

Make A Wish Birthday Posts!
We are still doing birthday shout outs, every day in our morning announcements!

Three-fourths of the school year is done, but there’s still time to order your Make a Wish Birthday wish for birthdays from now through the summertime. For only $20.00, you can honor your child for one week on the school marquee AND donate to a great cause of granting a wish for a critically ill child. McAuliffe has granted 5 wishes and with your help, we will be able to grant Wish #6 ! Click on this link  to get started. Please email Ms. Miller  [email protected]  if you need any help or have any questions.

Amazon Smile! We know you're shopping online!
On your first visit to AmazonSmile  smile.amazon.com , you need to select a charitable organization to receive donations from eligible purchases before you begin shopping. Choose McAuliffe Middle School PTA ! Amazon will remember your selection, and then every eligible purchase you make at  smile.amazon.com  will result in a donation. AmazonSmile will occasionally contact you about donation amounts disbursed to your chosen charity or about the program.
