Virtual Field Trips
Another great field trip for our McAuliffe science students to Ano Nuevo State Park. Students love having the virtual learning opportunities!
DIY Masks
My name is Justin Kim, and I am a senior at Los Alamitos High School. With the recent coronavirus pandemic affecting the lives of many people in our community, I feel that I needed to do something. I want to help the community by showing them how to create facial masks. I have created a DIY mask Google Slides that explains why we should make our own masks, and it includes instructions on how to make them. It is very quick and simple; it took me around 10-15 minutes to make one. I have also created a #casetheface tag to spread awareness on social media about wearing masks in public areas.

What is your family doing during the school closure?
As you have seen, McAuliffe is working hard to bring families together during the time of school closure. Do you have an idea or a family activity that you would be willing to share with our community? A puzzle? Game night? Living room camping? If so, please complete this form while we compile resources for parents and families.

Submit ideas here .

Ideas will be shared in next week's Eagle Eye.
8th Grade Volunteer Hours Update
Hey 8th Graders!

You may remember in the Spring of 2019, we made the decision to encourage our students to collect 100 hours of community service per year. Therefore, the 8th Grade Class of 2020 would have been recognized for 200 hours of community service and the Class of 2021 and beyond would have been recognized for 300 hours of community service.

For this year, we will be recognizing students who completed 75 hours of community service or more during their 8th grade year, and students who completed 175 hours of community service (or more) during their time at McAuliffe.

Information for submitting your hours will be sent out in Tuesday’s Eagle Eye Newsletter.

Make A Wish Birthday Posts!
We are still doing birthday shout outs, every day in our morning announcements!

Three-fourths of the school year is done, but there’s still time to order your Make a Wish Birthday wish for birthdays from now through the summertime. For only $20.00, you can honor your child for one week on the school marquee AND donate to a great cause of granting a wish for a critically ill child. McAuliffe has granted 5 wishes and with your help, we will be able to grant Wish #6 ! Click on this link  to get started. Please email Ms. Miller  [email protected]  if you need any help or have any questions.

Amazon Smile! We know you're shopping online!
On your first visit to AmazonSmile  smile.amazon.com , you need to select a charitable organization to receive donations from eligible purchases before you begin shopping. Choose McAuliffe Middle School PTA ! Amazon will remember your selection, and then every eligible purchase you make at  smile.amazon.com  will result in a donation. AmazonSmile will occasionally contact you about donation amounts disbursed to your chosen charity or about the program.
