We want to make sure every child has a chance to be exposed to the arts in every form during their time at McAuliffe. Thanks to our amazing VAPA (Visual and Performing Arts) team, we are able to bring this creativity to our students every day.

VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS AT MCAULIFFE
Our VAPA Department at McAuliffe has been hard at work finding new ways to engage our young artists!

Visual Arts: These 7th and 8th graders are designing cartoon buttons in a very specific style. Stay tuned for the final product!

Band: Guess who is learning to play drums?! Our Advanced Band is branching out and learning drums!

Drama: Students are back on the stage and rehearsing their monologues. Students are so excited to share their work with their peers.

Choir: Here you can see students engaging in a Socratic Seminar analyzing social media and performing arts. Getting creative while we can't sing!
Submit Photos for the Yearbook!
Student Activities and Student Pictures
As part of the ongoing efforts this year to collect pictures for this year’s yearbook we are asking that all students enroll in one extra Google Classroom designed as a hub for student activities and pictures.
Periodically, “assignments” will be posted asking for you or your child to upload a picture of them to help fill out the yearbook while we are away during distance learning. The first assignment is already posted asking for a “First day of school picture” but any picture during this first week works great.
Photos will be kept private and will only be seen by our ASB and Yearbook Directors, Mrs. Bellendir and Mr. Danforth, before being made visible to others.
We greatly appreciate your help in this endeavor and can’t wait to start putting all of the memories together for this year! This is a great way to make sure our student leadership class our Yearbook class don’t miss out on helping you create memories this year!

GREAT CALIFORNIA SHAKEOUT HAPPENING OCTOBER 15TH AT 10:15 and 1:30!
This annual event will look a little different this year! In accordance with the California Department of Public Health Guidelines to “Minimize movement of students and teachers or staff as much as practicable,” there will not be a full evacuation to the student assembly areas or a Search and Rescue exercise. Instead, teachers will discuss with students the locations they would assemble (once the shaking stops) in the event of a real earthquake.
