Red Ribbon Week this Week at McA!
Dear McAuliffe Parents and Families,

This week is full of middle school SPIRIT! We look forward to a week of Red Ribbon Spirit Days and facts that support healthy living--and we will finish the week with a costume contest and dance for our 7th and 8th grade students. First dance in two years and we are looking forward to it!

VIDEO: WellSpace openings celebrated in Los Alamitos Unified

Los Alamitos Unified School District officials recently gathered with representatives from the Orange County Department of Education, CHOC and the Los Alamitos Education Foundation to formally dedicate new WellSpace centers at McAuliffe and Oak middle schools. There are now five WellSpace centers at middle and high school campuses in Orange County through a partnership involving OCDE and CHOC. The initiative kicked off in Los Alamitos during the last school year with the goal of improving mental health by creating spaces of calm for students to reset and learn about mindfulness strategies with support from school counselors.

The Make A Wish Club invites you to enjoy some Kona Ice after school on Wednesday, October 27, early release day.  Scan the QR code to prepay and pre-order yours!  Make sure you use the CODE: F013610 and order as many as you'd like.  All orders cost $5.00 with 20% of all sales for the Make a Wish Foundation.  Online sales end Tuesday, October 26 at 2:00.   Cash orders will also be accepted at time of the event. Halloween Dance and Costume Contest
Halloween Costume Contest and 7th/8th Grade Dance is October 29th
On Friday, October 29th we will host a costume contest for ALL students, grades 6-8 in the ODAT from 12:15-12:30
After the contest, the 7th and 8th grade students are invited to stay for the Halloween Dance in the MPR from 12:30-1:45
Dance tickets will go on sale on Monday, October 25th for $3 and require parent permission to attend.
Costume Guidelines
  • Costumes that are disruptive, distracting or conceal the identity of the student are not permitted.  Students' costumes must still conform to the dress code.
  • No masks
  • No toy weapons
  • Face painting must be minimal--the entire face may not be painted/covered with makeup
  • No derogatory costumes or reference to sex, drugs, etc.
  • Costume must allow student to sit in desk or chair properly without having to have parts stored by teacher in class.
Chipotle Fundraiser!
McAuliffe loves things that are a little bit extra. Like guacamole and homies with extra chromies. So come to Chipotle on Seal Beach Boulevard this Saturday, October 30th from 4-8pm to celebrate Down Syndrome awareness month and raise money for abilities awareness. 
Broadway Jukebox--You're Invited!
Please join us for the McAuliffe All-School Musical: Broadway Jukebox on Thursday November 4th and Friday November 5th!

Tickets are $15 reserve and $10 general admission. They can be purchased at mcauliffechoir.com.
East Coast Trip Opportunity
Dear New 8th Grade Families,
