Take a Mitten, Warm a Heart by the Kindergarten Team

Our Douglas Community has joined with the Acton Housing Authority to help families in need over the holidays. Please consider visiting this Google Doc to view the needed items. We will send home a reminder note with the item description you signed up for and a mitten with the family number and family member to attach to the gift. Once you purchase the suggested gift, please attach the mitten to your wrapped gift, and have your child place it in the bin inside the Douglas office. Staff, please bring your gift to room 301.

**The due date for all gifts is Friday, December 9th.**

Thank you for helping to bring joy to Acton families in need!

Your gift will be so appreciated!

REMINDERS

The Library is looking for Volunteers!

Sign up to come during your child’s library time! Please follow this link to see when your child’s library class meets and sign up by emailing Sasha Opel at sopel@abschools.org. Or if you have previous Library experience and a CORI completed just show up! The library is more than happy to take volunteers at any time during the school day! Our Douglas library is still merging with Gates and we have lots of books to shelve along with the regular task of reshelving checked out books. When you volunteer during your child’s class time you also get to help your child and other students pick out books!

Check the Lost and Found!

Items will only be kept until just before the Winter Break, when they will be donated to charity. Please come in and look for your lost items.

Lost and Found is located in the main entrance area as well as in the cafetorium.

Help Douglas Earn Money!

Douglas Teacher Wish List on Amazon

Looking for ways to support our teachers this year? We have put together an updated Amazon Wish List that includes various items our teachers have wished for. If you would like to help make some of the wishes come true and support our teachers and students, please pick an item or two from the list to donate. The items will be shipped directly to the coordinator, who will then organize, label, and deliver them safely to the school. The list will remain active throughout the school year and we will continue to add new items as more wishes come in. There are wishes small and large, and you can also purchase gift cards in any amount that will be put toward purchasing additional items.

Check out our Wish Upon a Star wish list here.

*Remember to use Amazon Smile* and Douglas will automatically earn a percentage of all qualifying sales!

For questions, please contact Emmy Whitney at emmywhitney@yahoo.com or 617-633-1862. Thank you!
