Let’s showcase our community at the Festival of Cultures
We are looking for a volunteer to coordinate the annual festival of cultures celebration in the spring! The options are endless on how to showcase the many cultures and their traditions! Historically, the event included “Ambassadors” for different countries, performances of different cultural art forms and sometimes food tasting to reflect tastes of the countries. Email [email protected] ASAP to volunteer! These events cannot happen without your support.
Are you thinking about summer?!!
Save the Date for The Summer Camp Auction! Coming the week of January 24th, we will have several local camp spots available for online auction! A wide variety of interests are included: Sports, crafts, day camps, and much more! Get summer on the books! Are there camps you want to see? Email [email protected] ASAP! Stay tuned for more details!
REMINDERS
Calling 6th Grade Families!
The yearbook committee needs your help to commemorate this time in their lives and remember all their friends as they head off to RJ Grey.
It's traditional at Douglas to do a 6th Grade yearbook! The PTO graciously covers the cost of the book for all 6th Graders. We are working with Coffee Pond to get the group photos and school photos of everyone but need your help to get school related candid photos from Kindergarten to 6th Grade and info so your child can have an "About Me" section.
ACTION ITEM: Please access our Google Drive to find individual folders of each grade and upload your memories with friends into their respective folders. We'd like to keep it as close to school related activities as possible, so no birthday parties. Photos at school are best but we can also use town sports, town events, scouting events, Douglas Day events or even photos from when we were on Zoom. Not all photos will be used but we will try our best to get everyone in at least once! To upload photos please click the link below:
Please use this folder to upload only and note that some parents do not want their child's photo shared online. Please add photos by March 31st.
ACTION ITEM: Here's the fun part! Your child will get their own personal section in the book! Please help us by emailing the following information to [email protected]:
1. Child's Name
2. A Casual Headshot - Can be what they want to show their personality!
2. A Baby Photo
3. Please have them respond to the following questions:
Likes/Enjoys:
Favorite Food:
Favorite Place:
Favorite memory of elementary school:
Let us know if you have any questions or have trouble uploading/accessing the link. We are happy to help walk you though it or can work around an alternative way to receive photos.
Thank you,
The 6th Grade Douglas Yearbook Committee

Douglas Amazon Wish List
Douglas parents have put together an updated Amazon Wish List that includes various items our teachers have wished for. If you would like to help make some of the wishes come true and support our teachers and students, please pick an item or two from the list to donate. The items will be shipped directly to the coordinator, who will then organize, label, and deliver them safely to the school. The list will remain active throughout the school year and we will continue to add new items as more wishes come in. There are wishes small and large, and you can also purchase gift cards in any amount that will be put toward purchasing additional items. For questions, please contact Emmy Whitney at [email protected] or 617-633-1862. Thank you!
