Thank you especially to our event chairs - Sarah Cole Doddrell and Tracy Walton for running this event! Seeing the kids smile makes it all worth it!

Join us for The Douglas Art Show May 17th @ 6pm

Sign up to help prep for the Show!

The inaugural Douglas Art Show is happening this week! Families are invited to join us on Wednesday, May 17th from 6:00-7:30 pm for a celebration of the visual arts. There will be an exhibition of grades K-6 artwork on the first floor of the Boardwalk Campus. We’ll also have a scavenger hunt and a family art-making activity! We can't wait to celebrate the creativity of our artists at Douglas and hope to see you there!

If you would like to help, please use the link below to volunteer, or email [email protected] directly with a time you can come in.

At this point, we especially need help taking down the show from 12:00-3:00 pm on 5/18.

Thank you to everyone that has already volunteered their time to help make this happen! We look forward to seeing you all soon! Art Show Flyer

"Anything but a backpack" Spirit Day

this Wednesday May 17th

Join in this Spirit Day on May 17th by coming to school with “Anything but a Backpack”! Students may bring their belongings in something other than a backpack. For example, a briefcase, sack on a pole, shopping cart, golf bag, suitcase, picnic/laundry basket, etc. Be creative--have fun!

Grades K-2 Talent Show Permission Slips for Grade 3-6 Siblings are Due Friday, May 19th

The Talent Show for grades k-2 is scheduled on Wednesday, May 24 beginning at 9:30am. Grade k through 2 classrooms will be in attendance but the grade 3 through 6 classrooms will not. If you have a grade k-2 Talent Show performer and you wish for their grade 3-6 sibling to attend, we will need you to provide permission for them to be taken out of class as they will be missing lessons. Please complete the attached permission slip (Sibling Permission Slip) and return to the school office no later than 2:00pm on Friday, May 19th. Please note a separate permission slip must be completed for each K-2 sibling.

Questions? Contact Mary Georgilas at [email protected]

Grades K-2 Talent Show is May 24th @ 9:30am

Join us on May 24th at 9:30am in the Cafeteria to celebrate the talented performers of Douglas in Grades K to 2! Families are welcome to come watch!

Douglas Day is coming May 31st!

Douglas Day is our Field Day on May 31st where the whole school comes to the Elm St fields to play games, activities, try dunking an adult in a dunk tank, run through a bouncy obstacle course and have popcorn! It’s a day many of our Douglas students look forward to all year but we can’t do it without volunteers to help run games and activities to make it a success!

Please consider helping (or volunteering to be dunked by your child’s class!). There are many opportunities to help: Please sign up HERE. You can sign up on your own, or grab a buddy to work with.

We thank you in advance for your time, and for helping make this year's Douglas Day a success!
