It's Random Acts of Kindness Week!
This week is dedicated to celebrating the power of kindness. It’s an opportunity for our community to focus on connecting through kind acts and kind words. This is a nationally recognized week, but our Fly like an Eagle Committee is putting their own spin on it. Rather than think of each act of kindness as random, they want everyone to back up their actions with intent. Throughout this week, be sure to ask your child(ren) what they've learned.

Some of the things our Committee is planning are:

  • Our Fly Like an Eagle Committee will be “sending smiles” to every student to kick off a game of kindness tag.

  • Peer Helpers will be decorating middle school lockers with encouraging messages

  • Each day of the week, classes will have a different “acts of kindness” mission that they are encouraged to focus on for the day.

If you’re interested in sprinkling in some intentional kindness at home, here’s a calendar for the whole month with some ideas! You can find ideas for the whole year here .

Multicultural Festival: March 6th
Our PTO is excited to announce this year’s Multicultural Festival will be held on March 6th from 5:00 pm - 8:30 pm at Cherry Creek Academy. This is an annual school event that honors and celebrates the diversity and inclusion that makes CCA so special. Throughout our school we have tables set-up in our classrooms that represent many different countries. At each table we will share food, artifacts, and music. This event is a hands-on way for all students and families to learn more about the countries that make-up our CCA community. In addition to the tables, we also have performances that celebrate the dance and traditions from many different countries. It is an amazing night that culminates with a “March of the flags,” that visually shares the diversity of our CCA community.

Our Multicultural Festival also provides our community with wonderful volunteer opportunities! Come and share your heritage!

We have 14 amazing countries represented so far: Ireland, Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Nepal, Lebanon/Syria, Tajikistan, India , Austria- Europe, Mongolia, Poland
Russia, China, South Korea, Australia, Pakistan/Asia, and Uzbekistan.
